Dear Mom,
Well, what can I say? You have raised me into the woman I am today at 21 years old, and without your guidance and everlasting love I have no idea where I would be, and quite frankly, I don't even want to think about where I would be but beside you. You gave me life, you put a roof over my head, clothes on my back and have loved me without bounds, and for that I cannot thank you enough.
They say a mother's love is unlike any other and I can contest to that. No matter how many times I may have messed up, made you angry and fought with you over something so small, you have always shown me love and loved me for all of those flaws. How can one human being be so amazing? You're not just my mom, you're my best friend and superwoman all wrapped up into one. You have never failed me in life and have always stood behind me in both good and bad times, you're my personal cheerleader and sidekick and I wouldn't want anyone else to play both of those roles.
You're the only person I know that would put up with my many years of dance classes and driving me back and forth to competition weekends and recitals. It wasn't always easy and we were always on the move, but you always made sure I got where I needed to be and was on time. You also always did my hair and makeup for those recitals and competitions, which sometimes I thought made me look like a clown with the caked on blush that you put on my cheeks, but I knew you meant well! I could've been a prime example of the pre-toddlers and tiaras era because that's exactly how I always felt. You made everything nothing short of interesting, but also always made things fun for me.
Mom, thank you for always being my go to, my shoulder to cry on, my strength, my world and my best friend too. Having you in my life all of my life has made me so very thankful and I wouldn't change one thing about the relationship we have. We are so tight-knit and I know it will always stay that way no matter what happens. You have seen me at my absolute worst, have seen me hit rock bottom and still thought I was the best. Despite all of the disagreements we have had, all of the times we butt heads and all of the tears we have shed together, I will always be your baby girl.
Mom, as you know, after graduation I will be moving back home so your baby girl won't be leaving the nest all too soon. We will have many more disagreements, we will laugh and we will cry, we will have bad times and good times, but that's the foundation of life and it will never change the love I have for you. I absolutely admire you and I hope I can be half the woman and mother you are someday. You make me want to make a better life for myself and you make me want to pursue my dreams and to never give up. After all, you always taught me to be strong and to never back down and I promise I will always remember that.
As I finish this letter I want you to know how proud I am to call you my mother and to be your daughter. You are the coolest mom out there, the strongest woman I have ever met and the most hardworking boss I have ever seen. You make me so proud and I cannot express enough how thankful I am for all of your love, support and knowledge you have given me. Mom, I love you to the moon and back and I always will. Plus, who else can say I am literally your "mini-me?" They don't call me little Kathy for nothing!
Love,
Your Baby Girl.
