Imagine this: you're sitting on an airplane and the stewardess begins handing out customs cards for re-entry into the US. When she gets to your row, you look up at her, smile, and say thank you. She then tells you that you are the first person in a very long time to acknowledge her, let alone smile and thank her, so she thanks you. Imagine that.
Life can get hectic. In fact, it always does. It is within those crazy moments that kind actions can be overlooked. That's why it's important to be the one to notice, to say thank you to that stewardess who is just trying to do her job, to remind the people around you just how thankful you are for whatever it is that they are doing. Not only do people deserve to hear thank you every once in a while, but it also lifts your own spirits. Being thankful can actually make you happier. Do yourself, and those around you, a favor and just remember to be thankful for the little things. With that being said, here are some of the many thank yous that don't get said nearly as often as they should.
Police officers- thank you for protecting everyone to the best of your abilities.
Professors- thank you for showing me what I am capable of.
Friends- thank you for supporting me.
Doctors- thank you for trying your hardest to save every last patient.
Nurses- thank you for being the foundation to good healthcare.
Bus driver- thank you for making sure I get to my destination safely.
Managers- thank you for making sure my shift was successful.
Bussers/hostesses- thank you for doing whatever it takes to make the night run smoothly.
Ex-boyfriend- thank you for showing me my own worth.
Mom and dad- thank you for, well, everything.
Sister- thank you for being the kind of person worth looking up to.
Brother- thank you for making me laugh when I needed it the most.
Myself- thank you for trying new things.
So, take a moment out of your day and thank someone because they might be just the person who needs to hear it. You never know what the other person is going through: it could be the nicest thing they've heard all day. You could make all the difference.
