A Thank You, To My Support System
Maddie Stallings

Yes, you read that right, this is my last Odyssey article. With my busy schedule and goals that need to be met this school year, I am taking a step back.

So, for my last article, it only felt right that I said thank you to those who mean the most to me.

Thank you to those are most important and most influential in my life. Without you all, I couldn't have accomplished all that I have this far.

Here it is, a long overdue, thank you.

Thank you for listening to my rants and problems that I over dramatize sometimes, thinking that my entire life is falling apart.

Maddie Stallings

Thank you for being my shoulder to cry on and a helping hand when needed.

Maddie Stallings

Thank you for supporting me in everything and anything that I got myself into, knowing I had to much on my plate already.

Maddie Stallings

Thank you for loving me unconditionally and never losing faith in me, even when I didn't think I could power through whatever was going on at the time.

Maddie Stallings

Thank you for picking me up when I am down, for only being a phone call away when I have a bad day, and being the first people that I want to share my good news with.

Maddie Stallings

Thank you for just being there through all of the good and bad times that I have been through, and the ones that are to come.

Maddie Stallings

I am more thankful than all of you know put together. I am thankful that I know you all will always be there, and I can count on you no matter what. I am thankful that you all have put up with me and loved me, for me. I couldn't ask for a better support system, and if I had the option, I wouldn't trade any of you for the world.

You guys are my heart, home, and backbone. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I can never say it enough, thank you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
