Thank You To The Roommate That Turned Into A Sister

I couldn't stand you but at some point you turned into my best friend.

Thank You To The Roommate That Turned Into A Sister

First, let me say thank you for putting up with me. Who would've guessed that we would end up being friends after I spent most of the first semester not being able to stand you? We have had so many fun (mis)adventures. Whether it be the time we went driving and ended up on a dirt road with you and Shelbs flipping out to our late night runs to the commons for Swiss Cake Rolls because I really wanted some and was too afraid to walk by myself to the times that you put off your sleep just to stay with me at the library so I could get in my study hours because I was always busy during the regular hours. Though we both knew we had an early morning the next day. Then there is the time we decided that climbing the stairs for two straight days was a great idea so we wouldn't get out in Spoon Assassins and after being so sore decided the elevator wasn't too risky. But we still acted as if we were being hunted by the FBI whenever we felt the elevator stop on any floor besides the first floor. Then there was the days where after our 9 a.m. you would meet me in the commons because I always had to get George's or Einsteins.

Looking back on the past semester makes me upset that we won't be rooming together again. We hardly ever had a dull moment whether it be you talking in your sleep or us messing around in the hallway because of Juan the ghost dog. I couldn't have asked for a better person to share some of my most heartbreaking to funniest moments with. Getting to spend this past summer with you has truly been a blessing even if we are spending most of it together at work. I'm glad that I have gotten to spend my summer with you. Thank you for always listening to me complain even whether it be about boys or my crazy family or school. You were always there ready sitting in our room in your pink moon chair ready to listen to me and give me advice.

Even though many people probably believe that we hate each other they will probably never understand that you are one of my best friends even if you do drive me crazy sometimes. I can't wait to share the rest of my college experience with you. I hope you know that no matter where we go I will always have your back and you will now and forever be Mama Tams. I look forward to our workouts together, movie nights and game nights (Clue is calling our name). This next week coming up is gonna be one of the toughest leaving both you and my family. As soon as you get to campus I will be over annoying you, Chlo and Shelbs. I can't wait for the Nanas to be reunited to wreak havoc on campus once again at Bingo and Zumba. I can't wait for us to have more Haute adventures. Also, Whenever you figure out who built what wall when let me know. Thank you for being my mom away from home and kicking me in the rear when I needed it most.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
