Dear Big Sis,
The official definition of a sister is “a female offspring having both parents in common with another offspring.” To me that is too complicated, my definition of a sister is someone that will always be there for you no matter where life takes you. You are the one that has taught me how to do everything. From how to put makeup on correctly to what to say to the boy I like. You know everything because you have been through it before. There is so much I want to say and thank you for, but here are just a couple that I care the most about.
First off, I want to thank you for doing things wrong. I know this seems like a weird thank you, but I mean it. If you wouldn’t have done anything wrong, then mom and dad would have expected me to be just as perfect as you. So that time you came home after curfew and got in trouble, thanks because when I did it, they weren’t so mad. I’m glad you made the first mistakes because I was lucky enough to get to learn from you.
Thank You for always being there for me, no matter what the situation is. You always know what to say when I am down and sad. You always make sure that I am okay and make sure I do not need anything. I am so grateful for having someone like you who cares about me enough to ask.
Thank you for loving me, even when I was not so lovable. Yes, we fight just like every other sisters but you still always say sorry and love me in the end. No matter if it is your fault or not we figure it out and love and hug each other. We hate hurting each other, so we make sure that we are laughing at the end of every fight.
Thank you for being a great role model for me. Ever since I was a little girl, I always looked up to for advice. You taught me that you should always look prepared when you go out, also that it is okay to mess up sometimes but to always say you’re sorry and move on. You also taught me how to stand up for myself, even though we fought a lot, it taught me how to stand up for myself.
Thank you for being my best friend. Even when I was annoying and not very lovable, you stood by my side and never left. Ever since I have been little, you have never left my side and you have always dealt with me. From coming from our fighting days, we are now best friends and I would not trade you for the world. I love you so much and I have no idea what I would do if I did not have the most amazing sister in the world! Thank you for everything you have done and for letting me annoy you all the time.
