A Thank You Letter To My Best Friends

Without them, I am not me.

A Thank You Letter To My Best Friends
Kimi Kiley

In a world that can bring you so much stress and so many days filled with frustration and exhaustion, it helps to have your people.

My best friends are two of the most amazing, honest, and brilliant people I could meet in my life. They have two personalities that come with an energy I didn't even realize I needed until I met them and without them in my life, I truly wouldn't be me.

So, guys, this one is for you.

Thank you for your humor and quick wit. When I'm around either of you I laugh harder than I ever have and every day there's a new conversion that leaves us cracking up or a new inside joke that we laugh over for way longer than anyone could understand. Its the most beautiful feeling, laughing with you guys and realizing how much I enjoy the both of you. Whether it's you guys judging me with your laughter or whether it's us cracking jokes that really only we find funny, I'm appreciative of it every day.

Thank you for our adventures. As boring as we think our lives are sometimes, you have to admit we have some killer stories. Even if we're just driving around taking turns wasting our gas or if we're roaming around Target or Walmart, we have fun everywhere. Every time the three of us are together its bound to be a great time. From cooking dinner at 11 o'clock at night to playing hangman, celebrating our birthdays, Dunkin runs, running errands together and tagging each other in way too many memes. Also, spending way too much money on food but arguing about where to eat for a solid hour beforehand and even sitting around doing nothing but of course having fun anyway - there's never a single dull moment.

Thank you for being there for me in the bad times, and especially the great ones. You both deserve so much recognition and appreciation for being my anchors and I fully plan on giving you that. Neither of you have ever given up on me and you both show me every single day why life is so worth it. I can never thank either of you enough for the benefits your friendships have given me and I could never repay you for the things you both have supplied me with- from tough love, to sympathy, to support, to rationalization, to being some really (unpaid) therapists - I feel like you've given me superpowers. I feel like I can do anything.

You're both so unique and you both bring more to my life than I ever asked for, and there won't be a day that I will wake up and not be thankful for that. I consider myself one of the luckiest people to have two best friends that turned into my family. I can't wait for my kids to consider you guys their aunts and to sit around a kitchen table when we're married and laugh about everything we used to do when we were young and a little too reckless...

I'm ridiculously proud of the both of you and all you're achieving lately and I hope you know I will be here for you both until the end of time. I love you both forever and always, thank you for being my people.

With all of the love in the universe,

Your best friend

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Being Invisible The Best Super Power

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
