A Thank You Letter To The Friends Who Never Gave Up On Me

As cliche as this may sound starting this off, thank you. Thank you for never giving up on me.

Thank you for always being here for me. Thank you for never judging me and always supporting me, my happiness, and my goals. You have no idea how grateful I am that you are all still in my life.

These past couple years have been hard ones for sure, but having you all by my side made it easier to go through. I don’t know what I would do without you.

I know we have gone through a lot ourselves and you haven’t always agreed with my decisions, but no matter what, you stuck it out and continued showing me unconditional love. That is true friendship.

When I felt like I had no one, you reminded me that I had you. When I needed a shoulder to cry on, you were right by my side.

When I needed a friend to vent to no matter what it was about, you listened. When I reached one of my goals or succeeded in an aspect of my life, you were there to support me and to be genuinely happy for me.

I may not be the best at sticking to plans, be way too dramatic, and tend to fall when I drink a little too much. But thank you for always being there to catch me when I fall, or to help me pick up the pieces to my night in the morning.

Thank you for the no-judgment policy in our friendship. Thank you for understanding I am not perfect and that half the time I end up canceling plans just to stay in bed because of my mood.

Thank you for accepting all my bad qualities and loving my good ones. Thank you for being YOU.

You all are one of a kind. The friends I have lost over the years just were not meant to be in my life, but I know all of you are. I have the best friends anyone could ask for, and I feel bad for anyone who does not have the same kind of support system that I do.

I know I am not perfect, but I promise I am worth it. I promise I am continuing to work on myself to be a better person and an even better friend to you all, the same way you’ve been amazing to me.

I may not tell you how much I appreciate and love you enough. Actually, I tell you all WAY TOO MUCH! But for the times I don’t say it enough and maybe you need a reminder, here it is. I will always support you the way you have supported me.

The way you guys have treated me has helped shape me into a better person, and all I want is happiness and success for each and every one of you. We all help each other strive in life, and that is what friendship should be about.

Thank you again for never giving up on me.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
