Dad,
Most people lean towards their moms as their best friends. Luckily, I was blessed with you and mom as BOTH of my besties. You've both been by my side since day one, but this article is about you. I know that I don't always show it, but I am beyond thankful to have someone like you in my life.
Thank you for being my best friend and twin. You've taught me everything there is to know about having charm while being serious at the same time. There are times where I genuinely think we have the same mind. No DNA test necessary here; we're one and the same. Mom doesn't call me "Rob Jr. Jr." for nothing.
Thank you for teaching me everything. From how to walk, to do fractions, to jumpstart a car and write a check, you've been preparing me for real life. I know that I roll my eyes every time that you attempt to tell me something that I don't already know, but let's be real, it's just how we work. I roll my eyes, you laugh and say, "do it yourself", then i come back to it and you help me figure it out. The quantity and quality of things you have taught me will last a lifetime.
Thank you for loving me even though I have tattoos. I know that you would have preferred I bought a bumper sticker, but here we are. You've supported me through all of my crazy decisions through the years and I could not be more blessed to have an accepting father like you. That said, let's talk about that nose ring ...
Thank you for dealing with me during my terrible teen years. That sentence is self-explanatory but yes, thank you for that because if I were you I would have killed me. Luckily, you raise me to be a badass with a creative mind who somehow made it to college. Go you.
Thank you for being you. Even though you drive me Type-A crazy sometimes, I could not be more thankful to have someone like you to guide me through life. If I grow up to be half the human that you are,I'll be a huge success.
I love you.
Always,
Your Daughter.
