Dear Brother,
Thank you. Thank you for always being by my side. I think people take brothers for granted growing up. I can’t even thank you enough. It takes a lot to put up with me and you do it so effortlessly. Thanks for the days you step away from what you are doing just to spend time with me. Some of my fondest memories have come from the days that we have spent going on walks, shooting hoops, or fishing. Thanks for the days that we have spent laughing on hours on end. What I would give to capture our laughs in a bottle and save them for later. Or the car rides that always seem to have a spontaneous stop to pick up ice cream or some kind of sweets. Thanks for being my protector. I know you get annoyed with having to go to the stores with me because I hate to go alone but I really do appreciate it. Thank you for coming into my room and just laying there silently because you know I am upset and I'll talk when I'm ready. Thanks for inviting me to spend time with you and your friends because you know mine are all busy. Thanks for letting me choose the movies on the rainy days.
As we have grown I have watched you grow as a person before my eyes. You have become someone who is so patient, understanding, and intelligent. Your head is in the right place and you have a strong sense of self. I have been so impressed with your work ethic and admire the way you care for everyone. You always put others before yourself and that is a characteristic that not everyone has. I can always count on you to help me through difficult situations. You have always been tried your best to understand every situation. As the years have gone on it seems that your mind has traveled so far in such a little amount of time. Between schoolwork and looking up information just for fun, you have become someone with an incredible amount of intelligence. Some of it may be unrelated but it's always funny when you start to go on rants about something out of the blue. You have become such an incredible person and I couldn’t be more proud.
As the years continue to pass I only wish to continue to see your smile and to see you grow. As you have grown and have become a better person you have made others around you better people as well. Although this might be years too late, I want you to know that I really appreciate you and I am blessed to have you by my side. I know you don’t hear it enough but you have such an impact on others. You have made me a better person.
Love Always,
Your Sister
