Thank You To My Brother

To my brother,

I'm not going to lie, I despised you growing up. You annoyed the shit out of me. You always picked on me, bullied me, and bossed me around. As we got older though, we become a lot closer and I am so thankful for that. You are now my best friend.

1. Thank you for listening to my problems.

When I have no one to talk to, I know I can always turn to you. You will sit there and listen to all of my boy problems and not complain. You will listen to my drama and you will listen to me complain.

2. Thanks for always having my back.

You always have my back no matter what. Even if I am wrong in a situation, you still take my side.

3. Thank you for being over-protective.

Thank you for always telling me to be careful. Thank you for questioning me about what I wore out whether it be about my shorts being too short or my top being too low. Thank you for always questioning me about the boys I date to make sure they are good enough for me.

4. Thank you for the memories.

We literally have some of the craziest memories together. I will cherish them for life.

5. Thank you for teaching me what NOT to do.

I would say that you were a good role model but being truthful, you weren't the best role model growing up. You got into a lot of trouble, but it taught me lessons. I learned not to follow in your footsteps. Thankfully, you are a better person now and you are becoming a wonderful man.

6. Thank you for pushing me to do my best.

You are always there to push me. When it comes to school, you tell me to try my best. You tell me I am smart and will do big things in this world.

7. Thank you for annoying me when we were little.

Even though I hated it when we were little, I am now thankful. It taught me to stand up for myself.

8. Thank you for loving me.

I am not going to lie, I know you think I am a pain in the ass but thank you for loving me anyways.

9. Thank you for being the best big brother.

I am so thankful for you. I am truly blessed to have such a great big brother. You are my best friend, Keller. I could not live without you. Thank you for turning your life around and becoming the man I always knew you would be. I love you more than words can explain!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
