Like most good friends we've been through thick and thin with each other. We grew up with each other, we have endless good and bad memories. Some I have known since the beginning and others I picked up on the way that I never let go of. I am so thank full to have you as friends. But I have a little more than that to be thankful for.
Thank you for being my friends since pre-k/elementary school. We survived through kickball at recess to puberty and all the way to college applications together. Could not imagine what those experiences would be like without the memories of you guys. Not many people can say they've known their best friends back home since kindergarten. And I am so thankful for that.
Thank you for being my biggest support group. You were there when I barely survived Spanish in 8th grade and to now when I just need to be reminded that I am sane and can survive college. You tell me you are proud of me probably more than my own mother does.
Thank you for loving me like Kanye loves Kanye.
Thank you for keeping these group chats stay alive since high school. You are my automatic go to when I need to talk to someone from back home. And lets be honest texting in it gives us a sense of familiarity when we need it.
Thank you for letting me call you at odd hours at the night crying that I miss you. But also thank you for calling me randomly "just because".
Thank you for allowing me to still just walk into your house and think nothing of it.
Thank you for letting my living room be an acceptable hang out sesh. And sometimes when we don't feel broke enough to go to Ruby Tuesday's for their salad bar.
Thank you for not letting the time and distance allow anything to change with our relationship. I love coming home and having nothing feel different.
Thank you for being the ones I have the best awkward photos with.
Thank you for the constant encouragement.
Thank you for any argument we have forgotten ten minutes later.
Thank you for thinking of me as much as you do.
Thank you for trying to fit in time for us. Especially as we get older and our time home gets busier.
Thank you for being like my siblings, especially for some reason always just knowing when to text or call at the right moment when I need it.
Thank you for being happy for me. Also knowing I am happy for you even it means moving away.
Thank you for slapping sense into me when I need it.
Thank you to our moms. Just for being sweet and cute. Also not minding when we stay up late laughing and yelling at each other because its the last night well see each other for months.
And of course thank you for being you.
When you leave your hometown and go on to college a lot of friends are lost just through time. You see your friends from high school less when you visit home. While that is completely normal and okay I am so happy that my best friends from home have not been forgotten or lost. My closest friends are those that I want to keep forever and I know I will. You all know who you are, you lovely people.
