Thank You For Being My Twin

Being in a sorority is great. All of the wonderful women you meet will have some impact on your life in one way or another. There are your pledge class sisters - the ones who started their sorority journey the same time you did. The ones that learned about your organization, became aquatinted with the sisters, and took every step along the new member process with you. There are the seniors that you aspire to be like one day. You want to be able to leave a lasting mark on the chapter like they did. Then, you have your big. The one women you that is the perfect fit for you. You fall in love with her and want to be just like her. She's the one person you run to after every minor and major thing that happens to you.

But sometimes, if you're lucky, you're blessed with a twin. She'll be right beside you as you both go through the process of becoming a member. You'll get to experience everything Greek life throws at you together. She'll know just as much about the process as you do, so you'll have your very own person to talk through the confusion with. Your twin will been there for you through everything and you'll be thankful for her and all of the big and little things she does for you.

Thank you for being there for my every step of the way. You honestly were one of my first friends when we joined and I know I can count on you for anything that goes on.

Thank you for all of the laughter. You have always been there to make me laugh no matter my mood. You will never know how thankful I am for all of the fun filled days and nights we have had and the ones yet to come.

Thank you for also being my shoulder to cry on. Without you, I don't know who would talk some sense into me when I'm upset over something silly.

Thank you for your honesty. You also know how to tell me everything I don't want to hear just when I need to hear it.

Thank you for sharing your big. Although it may have not been our top choices or the ideal situation we wanted, I'm glad I got stuck with you to share a big with.

Thank you for also being my step in big when she wasn't around. All of our adventures wouldn't be complete without people thinking I'm your little.

Thank you for all of the study dates and late night food runs. Most of our study dates were more made up of talking and laughing rather than studying and productivity. But, hey, who needs to study?

But most importantly, thank you for being yourself. You're the perfect balance to my, well, everything.

My sorority experience wouldn't be the same without you. Thank you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
