2016 was a year I will never forget. I was able to experience so many new life experiences that have made me a better person! From graduation to moving off to college, last year was never boring. 2016 flew by and I won't forget all the amazing moments I shared with my family and some of my best friends. Now that 2017 is finally upon us I'll go into this year with hope for more amazing adventures and the opportunity to meet even more people.

Like Edith Lovejoy Pierce said,

"The book is called opportunity and it's first chapter is called New Year's Day."

2017 I can't wait to see what's in store, but before I look to the future I have to take a moment to remember how beautiful 2016 really was.

1) May 2016: High School Graduation

May was an exciting month during 2016. A memory near and dear to my heart was graduating high school. I was able to graduate with honors from Emanuel County Institute with some of my closes friends with a graduating class of 61. Thanks for all the field trips and laughs. I'll always love the Class of 2016.

2) May 2016: Steven

Like I said May was eventful. At the beginning of May I met my guy Steve. There is no other guy that makes me laugh more than him. He's been one of the best things to walk into my life and I'm so glad I have him by my side. Happy almost 8 months!

3) June 2016: My Last Dance Recital

June was filled with so many lasts and tears. I love my dance home, Statesboro School of Dance. Without a doubt they are always there for me and never cease to remind me why I love dance so much. Having to preform in one of my lasts recitals was hard, but I'm so glad I can always go back home for a visit.

4) June 2016: FBLA Nationals

I was chosen to compete at the National Future Business Leaders of America competition in Atlanta, GA this summer. After all my hard work on my speech it finally paid off, and me and my wonderful adviser were able to experience a week's worth of activities and competing on the National Level. I came up short in the end, but I'll never forget the journey.

5) August 2016: Moving to Brenau

I love Brenau University. I moved to my dream college in August and I enjoyed every moment. There is no other school like mine. We are so unique and full of traditions. No matter all the work at the end of the day I love my BU!

6) September 2016: Receiving a Bid from Alpha Chi Omega

I decided to go through fall sorority recruitment at Brenau. This decision was by far one of the best decision I've ever made. I was so excited to receive a bid from Alpha Chi Omega. I love my home and my sisters, LITB!

7) December 2016: Finishing My First Semester in College

Finishing my first semester at Brenau really marked the end of 2016 for me. I was able to meet so many new people, attend a beautiful school, and experience some of the hardest and most unique life situations. Brenau, thanks for the fun and I'll see ya in a few weeks.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
