Having a long-distance best friend can be a struggle at times, especially when one of you moves off to college and the other stays near home. Hometown best friends are are the best because they've known you for literary forever. Those of you with hometown besties have definitely received these 10 texts before:

At least once a week we have to let each other know we are thinking of each other.

2. "When are you coming home??"


Planning out your next visit home around your best friends work schedules is normal, right?

3. "I need you"

You never get too old for your BFF.

4. "How's life

I need to know all the details of my bestie's life.

5. "Can you come home this weekend, plz?"

Because nobody can replace your hometown friends.

Whether I'm home for 20 minutes or a weekend, we're going to hang out.

Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
