1. Hope you're not expecting a White Christmas.
Because it's probably not going to happen.
2. Temperature is subject to change... hourly.
Yesterday it was 45 degrees outside? Doesn't matter. Today it's probably 75. And tomorrow it might be 36 degrees.
3. Seasonal clothes..? What are those?
Hate to break it to you, college students, but here in the boot when you bring your winter clothes to school you should not take all your summer clothes home. You'll inevitably need them this winter.
4. Windows are tricky.
Fogged windows do not necessarily mean cold weather outside, it may just mean high humidity. (Hope you weren't planning on fixing your hair.)
5. Expect to change seasons during the day.
Even if you begin your day in a coat and scarf, it could very well end in shorts and t-shirt.
6. Christmas day is not the day for flannel pjs.
You're probably spending the day in your nike shorts, a t-shirt, and christmas socks.
7. You've probably never been sledding.
Riding in a cardboard box down an icy hill doesn't count.
8. You've also probably never built a snowman taller than two feet tall.
And let's be honest... was it actually a snow man, or an ice man?
9. Santa has no worries when it comes to Louisiana fireplaces.
They're most likely not on. Most of us can count on our fingers how many times we've actually had a fire in it.
10. And yes. School actually does shut down for "snow."
Even if it's just the potential of snow, prepare your calendars for an unexpected winter break.
