One Tree Hill is undoubtedly one of the greatest series on Netflix. With dynamic characters, real-life high school scenarios, and romantic endeavors that make your heart skip a beat, One Tree Hill makes you want to be Brooke Davis’ best friend and be the Haley Scott, mostly because you want to be with the notorious Nathan Scott.
Nathan Scott is the Tree Hill Ravens’ varsity basketball star that leads his team to a state championship. But, once you start watching the rest of the series, you realize that Nathan is much more than just a basketball star. Nathan Scott is an incredible boyfriend, loyal friend, protective husband, fun-loving dad, and all in all, a heartthrob.
Although Nathan Scott stole your heart at least one billion times an episode (minus his few episodes where he acted like a total jerk), I compiled a list of ten times your heart completely melted for the OTH jock.
1. "Don't say I never gave you anything." It was the first time they were actually more than cordial to one another. He opens his snack to find a bracelet prize inside. So who does he give it to? Haley, of course. How can you not love a guy who does the little things?
2. "I want to be someone good enough to be seen with you." We all know Nathan is one of the biggest screw-ups in the entire series, but we love him anyways. Why? Because, when he makes his come back, it’s always heart-warming. So, when Nathan decides to try and act and “bad A” in front of Haley at their Brooke-ened date, Haley doesn’t stand for it. But, his come back is what makes your heart yearn for Nathan Scott. He throws rocks at her house to wake her up, Haley is already outside, and Nathan tells Haley the line heard around the world: “I want to be someone good enough to be seen with you.”
3. When Nathan taught Haley how to shoot a basketball. Who doesn’t love a guy who will goof around with you? Exactly. No one. Haley can’t shoot a basketball to save her life so Nathan, basketball extrodinaire, to the rescue and it is by far the cutest and goofiest thing you’ve ever witnessed. And, you love it.
4. "It's you or nobody else." The little things are Nathan Scott’s specialty. He knows how to show and express his love for Haley in his own way and each time he does, your heart melts. Like when Nathan turns to Haley and reminds her that she’s the only girl for him. Admit it, you probably grabbed your heart and said “awwwww.” We all did.
5. When he saved Jamie from a bully. Even if you don’t like Naley, you love their son, Jamie. He’s the cutest kid shooting around Tree Hill, amiright? The cutest moment Nathan had was when he saved Jamie from the bully who didn’t like Jamie’s cape. So what did Daddy Nathan do? He showed up at Jamie’s school in a cape and showed all the schoolyard kids how to slam dunk. Per usual.
6. When he participated in the date auction. Nathan shirtless. That’s all.
7. Those three little words. Each and every time he tells Haley and Jamie he loves them, your heart melts. Your heart melts because you watched Nathan grow from a jock jerk to a kind-hearted husband and dad. Nathan made the best changes and for that, we thank him.
8. Dancing in the rain. It’s romantic no matter how you see it so that’s enough for the Ravens.
9. When Nathan meets Jamie. It’s the look in his eyes when he first lays eyes on his newborn son. He’s still a kid who has a kid – but at that moment, Nathan grew up.
10. Always and Forever. Because when you got into your first serious relationship, you said this. He or she may not have known what you were talking about but you did. So did Nathan and Haley. Naley is always and forever just like our love for Nathan Scott.
Trust me, if you know Nathan, those ten little things were nothing compared to the 9 seasons of beautiful, shirtless, romantic, and enticing Nathan moments. If you don’t know Nathan, you should get to know him.
