If you are a fan of "Grey's Anatomy", you are familiar with the phrase 'my person'. We all have a 'person', someone who is there when the entire world turns its back on us. Sometimes, we take our 'person' for granted, so this article is to thank them for the top ten things that they do:
1. They listen to your complaints, whining, you name it
Like it or not, we can all be a bit whiny at times. Not many people can take it, but your person will sit through the worst of it; they may even join in so that you don't feel alone.
2. They are your #1 cheerleader
If you are lucky enough to have "a person", you know that they are your biggest fan. They will be there to scream your name at any event, will be the first to post about accomplishments of yours on social media, and will be there to take 1000 pictures of you like your mom did at kindergarten graduation.
3. They lend a hand
Whether it's buying food or gas when you're broke or helping you clean out your grandparents' house, your person will lend you a hand...ALWAYS.
4. They accept you for YOU
Your person loves you just the way you are, quirks and all. Chances are that the two of you are actually quite similar and have many of the same "weird" habits. Your person will never judge you, so you do you, boo.
5. They supply the junk food
Junk food is the way to 99.9% of girls' hearts. And majority of the time, your person is the one providing the goods. What's better than a McFlurry? A McFlurry with your person.
6. They tell the hard truths
Sometimes the truth is painful to hear. Your person knows that, but also knows that you would rather them be brutally honest than lie to you. The truth may sometimes sting, but it helps when it comes from the person who knows you best.
7. They are your shoulder to cry on
Life is hard. It can roundhouse-kick us so hard that we can't breathe. When life has given you all you can take and the tears begin to flow, your person will be right there to dry them.
8. They encourage you to be the best possible version of yourself
Your person knows you better than you know yourself sometimes. Therefore, they know how incredible your potential is, and when you aren't working towards being the best you can be, they steer you back in the right direction.
9. They are always there, without fail
Every friendship has ups and downs. But, with your person, you know that no fight or disagreement could ever split you up...you are meant to play a major role in each other's lives: maid-of-honor, godmother, fellow-adventurer, etc. There is nothing that could separate the two of you because if so, it'd be like you lost a piece of who you are.
10. They absolutely love you unconditionally
In life, you learn that some people love you unconditionally and some people love you only when you do or say exactly what they want. Your person loves you unconditionally. They accept every flaw, know all scars, love each quirk, and will defend you with every fiber of their being. To have a person is the greatest gift a girl could ever ask for.
