Your favorite Thanksgiving foods, ranked: You know some are way better than others.
Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year. Pre-Christmas cheer fills the air, family is around every corner, and (most importantly) food is abundant! As we all know, some Thanksgiving foods are just far better than others. Face it... You know it's true. There's just no way around it. We've taken the liberty of ranking them for you.
10. Turkey
While it is the classic Thanksgiving food, the turkey isn't anyone's absolutely favorite part of Thanksgiving. It serves as the traditional food, bringing nostalgia (and some protein) to the table, but not much excitement.
9. Green Bean Casserole
This makes green beans bearable. Plus, those tiny French onion bits on the top? Who couldn't say no? Plus, it makes eating vegetables fun! #ThanksMom
8. Cranberry Sauce
An extremely overrated food, cranberry sauce is a wonderful thing. It brings color to your plate and to your taste buds. Plus, its tangy taste helps to compensate for the dry turkey you need to eat for the sake of not hurting your grandmother's feelings.
7. Sweet Potato Casserole
It's like dessert, but you're expected to eat it. Sweet potatoes are even good for you! Just ignore the brown sugar and butter mixed in with it, and you're basically eating your weight in pure vegetable. The only question is, are you going for the pecan topping or the marshmallow topping this year?
6. Ham
Clearly superior to turkey, ham has been making appearances on tables across the nation for years and years. Seeing that it is less expensive, easier to cook and a lot tastier, it's no surprise that more and more people are choosing it to (literally) cater to their family's Thanksgiving needs.
5. Macaroni and Cheese
It's both a childhood and adulthood favorite. Macaroni and cheese is the perfect way to eat away your feelings and gain 7 pounds this holiday season with zero regrets.
4. Pie
Apple. Blueberry. Pumpkin. Pecan. Chocolate. If you can think of it, someone's great aunt has made it, and it's probably delicious.
3. Dressing
Dressing. Not stuffing. Dressing. It's delicious, and it is the correct way to enjoy Thanksgiving. "You're welcome," from all Southerners.
2. Pumpkin Spice ANYTHING
A new staple of the basic white girl, pumpkin spice is taking over the Thanksgiving market. We could pretend to be upset about it, but let's be honest... It's amazing.
1. Mashed Potatoes
A necessity on the tables of America, mashed potatoes are whipped up by angels and bless our plates each year. They are too good, too pure for us. How incredibly blessed we are.
