Music is always there to make us feel better when we need it and we all know that. It's no different for Christians. We love to be able to jam to music that helps us worship but also allows us to feel better about ourselves or our situation at hand.
1. "You Are More" - Tenth Avenue North
There's really poignant lyrics in this song, like "You are more than the problems you create, You've been remade." This reminds me that God doesn't care that I've made a mistake or feel a certain way about myself, and that it's all a part of His plan for me. We all fail and we all sin as Christians, but God knows that we are more than all of that.
2. "Oceans" - Hillsong United
The bridge is the most amazing part of this song. It talks about having the faith to know that God is in control and knowingly giving him control of our lives. It's also knowing that giving him that control will grow your faith.
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever you may call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour
3. "Blessings" - Laura Story
This song is a reminder that blessings can come in all forms, whether big or small, and to not take anything for granted. The chorus really hammers it home with lines like
'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if the thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
4. "Hope in Front of Me" - Danny Gokey
This song reminds me that no matter what situation God has placed you in, He is our hope. This is what keeps me going every single day and reminds me of the Bible verse:
"We live by faith and not by sight" -- 2 Corinthians 5:7
5. "All I Need Is You" - Lecrae
This song reminds me that nothing earthly matters, but instead that only Christ matters.
6. "Find You on My Knees" - Kari Jobe
This song reminds me that God will always be there when we need Him most. He wants us to come to Him when we are broken, hurt, or afraid. He will be with us no matter what situation we're in even if we're hanging at the end of our "strings." Being on our knees is a Christian's weakest position, and allowing God in to that part of our lives is the point of the song. The chorus really speaks to me personally, but I know it speaks to others as well:
Find You in the place I'm in
Find You when I'm at my end
Find You when there's nothing left of me to offer You except for brokenness
You lift me up, You never leave me thirsty
When I am weak, when I am lost and searching
I find You on my knees
7. "Broken" - LeCrae ft. Kari Jobe
This song reminds me that God is coming to wage the ultimate war with Satan one day, and that his presence in us is what makes us whole.
Your presence in me, is all the strength that I need
Your presence in me, is all the strength that I need
And I’ll always be whole
And I’ll always be whole
8. "At the Cross" - Chris Tomlin
This song reminds me that the cross, where the crucifixion of Jesus occurred, is where our hope and stay as Christians is. The holiness of the cross must never be forgotten.
9. "There Is Power" - Lincoln Brewster
This song reminds me that as long as we have Christ, nothing can come and stand against us. There is nothing that should ever be able to shake us.
10. "Strong Enough" - Matthew West
This song reminds me that God is strong enough to handle any situation He gives us, even if it's one of the hardest situations we could hear of. When we are weak, we have to remember the Bible verse from Philippians 4:13 below even though we are far from perfect.
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."
