16 Times NBC's Parenthood Made You Weep Uncontrollably

Binge watching our favorite TV shows has become all the rage. Whether it be on regular television or the ever so popular Netflix, I’m sure one of us has at least one program we’re borderline obsessed with. I’m guilty of this when it comes to NBC’s "Parenthood." Unfortunately, this show ended this past January, leaving behind six beautiful, heartfelt seasons for viewers to laugh, smile, cry, cry, and -- did I mention cry? If you’re familiar with the sound of 25 Kleenexes being swiped out of the box at the same time, than you're more than likely watching "Parenthood." I’m sure fellow Team Braverman members will agree with me when I say these are some of the top times "Parenthood" made us all weep uncontrollably.

1. Amber’s drunk driving accident.

This was one of the scariest things to watch on this show. We all know Amber and Sarah had the farthest thing from a loving, mother-daughter relationship in the beginning. But when Amber realized she needed to clean up her act after the accident, and you see the very first heartwarming moment between her and her mother at Sarah's play’s opening night, the happy tears were rolling.

2. Max finding out he has Asperger's syndrome.

In literally the worst way possible, nevertheless. Thanks for spilling the beans, Uncle Crosby.

3. Haddie leaving for college.

Haddie was the typical teenage daughter, always questioning the Braverman’s sanity. But no matter how cynical she could be sometimes, she loved them. The fact that she couldn’t even make it through security without jumping into her parents’ arms before she left for college was too sweet to watch. Who doesn’t love a Braverman hug?

4. Kristina telling Adam and the Braverman clan about her breast cancer.

Nope. I’m not even over this heart wrenching moment. Between the devastated looks on everyone’s faces as their voices were overshadowed by even more depressing music to Haddie walking in to surprise her mother, you probably couldn’t even remember what happened next because you were too busy crying so hard to see anything.

5. Kristina finding out she's cancer- free.

6. Amber and Ryan’s goodbye after he re-enlists in the Army.

You couldn’t help but feel for Amber. It’s been said that Mae Whitman is the best crier in Hollywood; I wouldn’t dare argue with that statement. Once she brought on the tears, you did the same.

7. Julia and Joel’s breakup.

The moment where you lose all hope that love exists. I almost threw my television out the window. Sorry, not sorry.

8. When Max’s classmates peed in his canteen.

Seriously, who does that? Poor Max. Bring on the Kleenex, please.

9. Zeek becoming ill.

via http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/10/parenthood-waitin...

And so it begins -- season six, episode one: Vegas. This was the start of a journey us honorary Bravermans were all hoping wouldn’t come. Know that saying that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Yeah, I’m sure we all wished that would’ve been the case for Zeek’s illness.

10. Amber telling Zeek she’s pregnant.

via http://zap2it.com/2014/09/parenthood-final-season-...

The bond between these two is everything. This was happening at the same time Zeek got sick, so I’m sure all of us were holding onto that glimmer of hope that he was going to live to see his first great-grandchild. But the proud expression and that beautiful bear hug he gave Amber after she broke the news was enough to send you into an ocean of tears.

11. Amber’s baby shower in the hospital.

All of the little speeches her aunts and Sarah gave her about being a good mother -- need I say more? Too sweet.

12. Julia and Joel getting back together.

Team Joelia forever. That is all.

13. Zeek getting to told his great-grandson.

Cue the ugly cry. The moment everyone was waiting for, and the fact that Amber named her son Zeek. I’m sure we all needed a moment after this one.

14. Sarah asking Hank to move the wedding up so Zeek could walk her down the aisle.

“I just wanna make sure that my father is there.” Shall I go on or are you still reaching for tissues?

15. Camille realizing Zeek has passed away.

Sobbing. Am I the only one who felt completely numb knowing this was the end? I highly doubt that.

16. The spreading of Zeek's ashes on the baseball field.

via http://www.nbc.com/parenthood

Just as Zeek had wished. A truly beautiful way to send off our favorite TV family, but knowing they’d forever be a part of us. Team Braverman for life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
