During high school, most kids have teachers they like or feel a connection with on a much deeper level than education. Sometimes that can be for something as simple as working outside of class to help students with the work, or it could be just knowing that the teacher cared about you on a personal level.
First day freshman year, you came in the room and gave us a talk about how you were not there to be our friends, and you didn't care if we liked you or not. At that moment I realized you were going to be my favorite. The comments you made during that first day caught my attention. After that we just gradually developed a relationship that lead us to where we are today.
There were many times I would walk into your room crying over anything and everything. Whether it was the fact that my boyfriend had broke up with me, I was fighting with a friend, I just failed a major test, you always knew what to say. What I love about it is you would always tell me if you thought I was being dumb. If I told you about a fight I was having you would point out who was in the wrong and how I needed to change my negative attitude into something positive. You always tried to make me see things in a better light.
You were always there for me even when you were having a bad day. That is not something that is in your job description. Thank you for being a teacher I could confide in. You understood my thought process, and knew what to say and when to say it. You knew what I was thinking even when I didn't want to say it.
I just wanted to say, thank you. Thank you for being not only my teacher, but someone I could come to at any given time and get the truth. Thank you for being someone I trusted with some of my biggest secrets. Thank you for never judging me. Thank you for being you.
