It’s apparent that Taylor Swift is the voice of this generation. Her timeless lyrics inspire millions of people across the world, and as a devout follower, Taylor’s words of wisdom have gotten me through a lot. Recently I’ve discovered that lyrics which seemed to perfectly describe my life when I was 10 years old now completely pertain to my life in college. If Taylor Swift had ever gone to college (but thank you for not, because then I would not have these songs), this is what I think she really wrote these song lyrics about.

1. "22"

"It's miserable and magical oh yeah

Tonight's the night when we forget about the deadlines..."

If I had to describe college in two words, it would be miserable and magical. Tay said it best that there are so many nights I just don't even care that I have a paper due at midnight.

2. "Bad Blood"

"Now we got problems

And I don't think we can solve them"

Every college math class ever. Just teach me how to balance a checkbook and not waste all my money. Ain't nobody got time for derivatives and integrals.

3. "Tell Me Why"

"You could write a book on how to ruin someone's perfect day"

Talking to the professor who gives a pop quiz in my 8 a.m. class on Monday morning.

4. "Breathe"

"It's two a.m.

Feelin' like I just lost a friend

Hope you know it's not easy,

Easy for me"

When you're trying to pull an all nighter and your best friend said she'd help you study, but she fell asleep on the couch.

5. "Mean"

"All you are is mean and a liar and pathetic

And alone in life and mean, and mean"

When your professor changes his mind about the date of your next test and it's now next class period, and you haven't studied one bit.

6. "Innocent"

"Minds change like the weather

I hope you remember

Today is never too late to be brand new"

t's like Taylor saw the really awful semester I had before... but if she believes I can start over and be brand new, I guess I can get up and crawl to my 8 a.m.

7. "A Place in This World"

"I don't know what I want, so don't ask me

'Cause I'm still trying to figure it out"

No I do not know what I want to do with my major, nor will it just magically come to me. No, I know nothing about graduate school either.

8. "Stay Stay Stay"

"You took the time to memorize me

My fears, my hopes, and dreams

I just like hangin' out with you, all the time"

When you create that special bond with the one professor who's just so cool and you kind of aspire to be like one day. They write all your recommendations as you two discuss your feelings over the latest issue of The New Yorker.

9. "Style"

"Could end in burning flames or paradise"

When you walk out of your final and you know that a B means you passed, but if you made something else... well, burning flames exactly.

10. “Shake it off”

“And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate”

When you make the highest grade on the test and all your friends hate you, but you really don’t care.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
