Taylor Swift. She's the singer-songwriter who taught so many to be fearless through her insanely prominent confidence to stand up and have her voice and thoughts be heard. To others, she's the annoying artist who only writes songs about her sad heartbreaks and the boys who did her wrong. She's one of the most successful female artists who has ever lived, even her haters can't deny that. Taylor Swift is one of those people who has never had a dramatic, classic hollywood scandal plastered all over magazines everywhere about some crazy, wild act, yet she still receives hate. It's nearly impossible, as humans, to be successful without receiving hate and jealousy from other humans – it's one of those strange things in life that only a greater power has an explanation for. Lately, however, Taylor Swift has been nothing but inspiring and simply a good human.
At the recent Grammy Awards, after winning her well-deserved awards, she addressed someone in a silent and powerful way – one of her specialties. Without addressing him by name, Taylor called out Kanye West on his recent accusation of making her famous in his song "Famous." "There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” she said, “but if you just focus on the work … you’ll look around, and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.” Something that no Taylor Swift hater can deny after listening to this speech is that she is an inspiring individual who is incredibly independent and strong. Taylor Swift teaches us to be caretakers to our own personal happiness and success. She teaches us that we are the ones who create our own happy futures and that appreciating those who helped us get there are the good ones in our lives. We create our dreams, and if we form a vision and set our minds to it, it becomes reality. Yes, there is nothing wrong with help from others to get to your desired destination in life, but in the end you are the one who got yourself there. Taylor is a huge example of hard work, creating beautiful dreams that become a beautiful reality.
Taylor Swift also recently has been receiving lots of attention on her generous $250,000 donation to Kesha. Kesha was recently denied the opportunity to make music independently from Dr. Luke, the producer who allegedly caused her mental harm, as well as sexual and verbal abuse. Taylor made a generous donation to fellow artist in order to help her with any financial problems she has and for any other help she may need. Another beautiful and generous Taylor moment. She reached out to another woman, showing her true intent for feminism as well as moral and general support. Taylor has such a kind heart, and it makes you think, "Have I done something nice for another person today?" Sure, we all don't have $250,000 sitting around waiting for us to donate to another or to a good cause, and that's OK. We do, however, have a soul and the power to try to make others feel worthy of a happy and good life. Taylor Swift's generous donation to another in need going through an incredibly devastating state made me realize the very least we could do is be a kind person on a regular basis, even when it comes to the little things. We are all humans who feel sadness and go through hardships, so why not be there to catch another of your own when they are about to fall?
So, to any hater of Taylor out there, hate on her and her music all you want. You can't deny, however, that she is a good human, role model and inspiration. Her actions speak a great deal about her as a person, and she's one of those people who are unlike any other in this world.
