Taylor And Kanye's Bad Blood

Pun intended.

If you watched Monday night’s 58th Grammy Award Show, then you should’ve seen the “bad blood” that went down when Taylor Swift indirectly called out Kanye West for his recent single regarding Swift.

If you’re lost, let me recap.

On Valentine’s Day, Kanye released his seventh studio album titled "Waves." One song, in particular, grabbed the attention of listeners in a negative way, when the song “Famous” blatantly mentions Taylor Swift and refers to her as wanting to sleep with him. He then states in the lyrics, “I made that b**** famous” as a reference to the infamous 2009 VMA moment when West walked onto the stage during Taylor’s acceptance for “Music Video of the Year.”

After the backlash Kanye received from the new single, he instantly took to Twitter claiming that it was Taylor’s idea for the lyrics, saying she gave him her blessing to sing the degrading lines in the song. Kanye quotes, “I had an hour-long [conversation] with her and she thought it was funny and gave her blessing,” going as far to he doesn’t want to take credit for the line, because Taylor actually said to Kanye’s friend, “I can’t even be mad at Kanye, he made me famous.” But, was Tay really OK with the lyrics? Or was she just as surprised as us when she heard the lyrics?

Based on her acceptance speech for "Grammy of the Year," I’d say she was just as surprised as the rest of us when hearing these lines. She starts by thanking her fans, as usual, and the people who helped produce her album, "1989," the album that landed her the Grammy. The self-proclaimed feminist then goes on to address her female audience by saying, “There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work, and you don’t let those people side track you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you’ll know it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”

I haven’t been much of a Taylor Swift fan in quite a few years, but honestly, you go Taylor! Definitely a breakthrough from her typically innocent shell. Kayne responded to this by saying, "I just want the best for this person" but that's as far as the comment went, so hopefully the feud has fizzled down and the two "shook it off."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
