14 Signs You're Ready To Be Back in Chapel Hill

In less than a month, Tar Heels will be back in the greatest college town in America, and by now we are ready to take on a new year, drink out of the Old Well on the first day of class for that 4.0, insert *sigh,* and begin a new exciting year. Here are a couple signs that we are more than ready to be back in Chapel Hill! Enjoy.

  1. For some reason you get anxious around 11:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and then it hits you that you're still not used to staying in on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  2. You miss being able to walk to Med Deli after class, stumble upon Sup Dogs on a Tuesday night, and Thursday’s margarita specials at Los Pos.
  3. Your GroupMe is starting to blow up again but it's not bothering you.
  4. The people at your gym are old and/or not nearly as attractive so now you're missing the SRC too.
  5. Anytime someone mentions Halloween, you invite them right away to celebrate it with you in Chapel Hill and go on and on and on how "Halloween on Franklin Street is like no other Halloween."
  6. You thought by mid summer you’d be off the waitlist for that class you need, so not getting those UNC class tracker text messages is making you antsy.
  7. You smile when you see a stranger wearing Carolina gear.
  8. You've gone through about four series on Netflix and you're asking yourself why the hell you even started the fourth one.
  9. You were checking out someone at the bar and then you realized it was your TA.
  10. Your dog is taken aback when you suddenly want to take him on a walk.
  11. Well it’s not basketball season yet, but you still can't wait for football tailgating to start and you have a renewed sense of hope thinking, “we’re gonna do a lot better this year!"
  12. You miss being around your friends 24/7.
  13. You miss the familiar faces, and people awkwardly tripping on the bricks on the way to Phillips because they were too busy with their phones.
  14. And of course, FDOC!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
