Ariana Grande's songs are such bops that they even resonate with college students majors!
Ariana Grande has been popping out bops since her Nickelodeon days. Growing up, her songs have become more relevant and extremely popular amongst the college student era. Here are 10 Ariana Grande lyrics that pretty much sum up different college majors!
Communication majors may seem to be dull and irrelevant, but let me tell you, the classes are fun! A lot of cultural classes that fall in the lines of music, movies, and more. This song pretty much sums it up — because it is just so fun and carefree!
Is God really a man? Because Ari over here claims that she could be a woman — and I agree. Women rule the world, and based on history, have shown power, talent and relentlessness, even if it is attributed as a mans idea. Gender and Sexuality studies teaches you these out-of-the-box thinking.
This is self explanatory. I'm sorry bio-med majors: just keep breathin.
Business majors is all about two things: 1. money, and 2. fun. They work so hard in college, and get a lot of money when they graduate and work for a CEO or something. You hear the stereotype of business majors, so you get the drift. They're bougee.
Read the lyrics, you'll get it. It's all about the mind being imaginative and daydreaming scenarios. Psychology 101.
Again, another self-explanatory example. If you haven't heard the song, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND GO NOW!
Lawyers solve problems. Ariana solved her problem — well, one less problem. You get the jist.
It's all about remembering past history — much like the history major. And I had to add this — this is a straight up bop.
This song is controversial, much like politics and our political climate. We still love politics majors and the song, though.
Don't be a hypocrite, but actually follow what you preach.
This generation of people have become so involved in promoting the idea of "Girl love" but yet when we need to express that love it all goes out the window.
Spreading the concept of "Girl love" doesn't mean that you post on social media and call it a day. It requires an actual effort. Shocking right? It isn't easy reversing the way we think in society. The choice we should make is to promote love in all ways, to all people.
We especially lack in promoting girl love. Girls these days are so hypocritical. They will say one thing and do another. Being a girl it is sad to know that we lack that understanding. As a society, we gain entertainment and gossip from seeing girls argue, or hate on each other, downgrading one another for the sole purpose of self-satisfaction.
"Omg. She just cut her hair. She shouldn't have done that. It looks weird."
"She spends her time at the library so she has no friends."
"Did you see John cheating on Sally. She's so heartbroken, like girl get over it."
"Wow. She honestly just tries way too hard. It is almost unbearable."
"She shouldn't have won. She doesn't deserve it. Did you see the way she stands? Exactly."
Similar comments to the ones above show that as girls we lack to love each.
Recently in the Jordyn Woods scandal people said that Khloe deserved it for all the stuff she has done in the past, or said Jordyn was the culprit in the whole thing. Yet, nobody mentions Tristan Thompson who is equally guilty as Jordyn. Being cheated on is no joke, and most people can relate to that feeling because it takes a lot of ice cream to get over it. Yet we still feed on the gossip that results from scandals like this. I am not saying that Jordyn is right and Tristan is wrong or vice versa. I am saying that as women we should not wish bad for other women. We should want happiness and success for each of our fellow sisters instead of being critical and judgy.
United as one, women are powerful and have the capacity to do so much. So today instead of preaching "One Love" show it to someone you know and feel bliss for not being hypocritical.
Late night hosting and steak grilling are directly correlated.
Late night comedy is the perfect escape. It's the perfect way to unwind before bedtime, catch up on the news of the day with a satirical twist, and see what new or exciting comedy segment your favorite host has come up with recently. From Fallon to Colbert, each show offers something different and delivers its own unique perspective, reflected through the content of the show and the host as well. However, whenever I watch late night comedy, one question always seems to pop up in my mind. I always find myself wondering how well each host would be able to grill a steak. You can tell a surprising amount about the way a person grills a steak by the way that person hosts a late night comedy show, so here are five late night hosts, ranked by how well they can probably grill a steak.
"Last Week Tonight" with John Oliver is a television masterpiece that offers a blend of late night comedy and informative journalism, achieving wondrous results. It may not be a traditional late night show, but John Oliver's talents create something truly unique and as a result, it seems like this guy really knows how to grill a steak. If you're at a barbecue and John Oliver happens to be there, there is a pretty good chance that he will take over for the grill master and show everybody how it's done, because he just knows how to grill.
Colbert's spectacular charisma and naturally funny persona make him a prime late night comedy host, as well as a prime steak griller. Colbert's show is a fair amount more political than your average late night show, but even though it seems to lean rather heavily on political humor, the show is still wildly funny and entertaining, which is how you know that Colbert also knows a thing or two about grilling up some steaks. And honestly, I get the vibe that Colbert can not only grill a steak, but he can handle chicken and burgers as well.
Fallon's goofy, yet hilarious presence, his immense talent, and his willingness to pretty much be friends with everyone have allowed him to secure what is probably the most sought-after position in late night TV, the host of the Tonight Show. His show is a bit more light-hearted than Oliver or Colbert, and as a result Fallon may apply this light-hearted nature to his steak-grilling as well, although it seems hard to tell. He is a phenomenal late night host, and definitely knows how to grill a steak, his technique may just differ a little bit from some of the other hosts.
As a U of A student, I should probably automatically despise Jimmy Kimmel since he went to ASU. However, his show does have some pretty funny segments. I do wonder, however, about his steak-grilling abilities sometimes. I'm sure that Jimmy Kimmel knows his way around a grill, but grilling just doesn't strike me as a typical activity for him. But hey, I could be wrong.
Seth Meyers' show doesn't always work for me, and he was probably in a position that was a better fit when he was head writer and host of Weekend Update for "Saturday Night LIve." Still, the show does have its entertaining moments, and Seth is still a relatively new late night host, so he still has time to improve. For some reason, Seth strikes me as the master of grilling steaks, like he is unbelievably good at it and watching him grill is like watching a true master at work.
Okay, so I've never actually asked any of these late night hosts about their steak-grilling abilities, nor have I ever seen any of them grill a steak. But, I have watched their shows, which has really given me all the insight I need into these five late night comedy hosts, and the way they grill their steaks.
I rushed home from Global Political Economics, dumped my backpack on the couch, threw on my favorite black jeans (Madewell to be exact) while the PA sun gleamed through the white shades on my apartment windows. It was around 10:00 am on a low, 70-degree day in early October. After wasting fifteen minutes trying to plan an outfit, I settled on complementing the black denim with a linen, yellow scoop tee from Anthro, matching yellow platform slip on sandals and think, dark, tortoise hoops – also Antho. I rushed to the bathroom, curled my blonde hair, touched up my makeup, threw some clothes in an overnight bag, grabbed my wallet and keys, and rushed out the door… for I was headed to the city.
New York City.
As I left Pennsylvania, I began to re-track my route to school, back in late August, headed north, I approached my first toll booth. The foreign concept of needing a "ticket" to travel on the highway was something that quickly grew to be irritating. After making it over the bridge, I approached the Bronx, almost to my first destination, Fordham University. I was traveling to visit my friend from high school. She would be showing me around the city for my first time. Having always been a city girl, people are always shocked when I tell them that.
Campus was pleasant. For its location in the Bronx, the tall black gates, cobblestone entrances, abundance of trees, marble steps and polished stone buildings completely hid the evidence that you were in fact still in the Bronx. I parked my white Volkswagen three floors up in the garage, grabbed my stuff and scurried over to a Starbucks across campus, where my friend was in a Biology Lab. As I finished off my grande pumpkin spice chai tea latte, my friend approached me in excitement. Next stop? NYC.
The duration of the train ride consisted of thoughts accelerated by excitement, consumed by images of New York City shown in Gossip Girl, Friends and the most fabulous Christmas movie, Elf. Because it was my first time, all I could think of when it came to the city were the glamified TV shows and movies that took place there, which frankly, only added to my excitement.
Grand Central, seen in the first episode of Gossip Girl, Serena van der Woodsen, bags in hand. To say the least, it took my breath away. The old-fashioned architecture and grand, old clocks. I felt like I was in a fancy airport and if you're in New York City, a visit to the station should be required. Next came Rockefeller Center, NBC Studios and Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show. In the center, flags waved in the brisk air as employees began tending to the half-assembled yet remarkable ice skating rink. I dreamt of the Christmas tree and skating on the rink in late December as it snowed. Before I knew it, we were in line with our tickets to Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show.
With tall men dressed in expensive suits monitoring that no one take photos, it began to hit me that we were about to experience a taping of a show, with celebrities. I quickly found myself in the very front row, watching Jimmy Fallon charm the audience with his impeccable sense of humor and the perfect questions for his special guests. To top off the show, Lil Wayne performed one of his newly released hit tracks. It was wonderful.
To Times Square we went! After walking just a few short blocks, we suddenly became absorbed into lights, billboards, colors and tall, tall buildings. It was beautiful. Times Square is one of those places that in a similar way to the top of mountains in national parks, can leave you speechless. It is the heart of our culture and offers so much more than just to provide a check off your tourist landmarks list. After walking the streets, we turned to corner and approached the Empire State building.
I had been to the top of the Sears Tower in Chicago and the Prudential in Boston but never been to the Empire State building. Up 80 floors, I stepped off of a five-minute elevator ride and into a 360-degree view of America's favorite city. The glitz and the glamour hidden within the dark streets while people, celebrities, families, businessmen, and models occupied the mysteriously lit up rooms within each skyscraper which served no other purpose than to simply remind us all that it truly is the city that never sleeps. Not a star is in sight but instead of looking up, you find yourself looking down. Hustle and bustle, were two of the first words that popped into my head when I first saw the spectacular view. With another elevator ride up six more floors, I found myself stepping out between tall glass doors and into the skywalk observatory. Protected by fences and cement walls that reached just above my shoulders, I peeked out into the open from a higher view of the gorgeous, lively, city of lights. Despite the fact that I could've sworn I felt the building sway… it is a must-do, even for those afraid of heights!

Welcome to the Carrington manor.
The CW show "Dynasty" is WILD.
A 2017 reboot of the 1980 dramatic soap, this show is full of twists and turns and rich Atlanta socialites. Why all my favorite shows are dramas featuring wealthy people, I will never know. This show is perfect if you have dearly missed "Gossip Girl" because this is it but filled with more plot twists, mystery, and even murder. I watched season one in two days. I was hooked on it and cannot wait for more in season two.
The show follows the wealthy Carrington family, consisting of heiress Fallon Carrington, her father Blake Carrington, and her brother Steven Carrington. The family dynamic changes when Blake reveals to his children that he is engaged to the young Cristal Flores, an employee of the family's business, Carrington Atlantic, who has just taken what would've been Fallon's COO position. The show also follows the shady past of Cristal and her nephew Sam, who both are originally from Venezuela. The drama continues with death, marriage, and Fallon's estranged mother, Alexis Carrington, surprising everyone and returning to Atlanta. There's mystery, drama, and scandal in this show that will always keep you watching until the end.
Here are seven reasons you need to be watching The CW's show, "Dynasty."
They bicker but truly they are a dynamic duo.
Anders, the Carrington majordomo, always will fight for the Carrington fam, and his straight-faced sass makes the entire show.
Yes, the one and only "Gossip Girl" legend is in Dynasty, as if you didn't need more of a reason to watch this.
A wedding, a fire, and secrets revealed, this season 1 finale is intense. It will leave you on a cliffhanger so you better keep watching!
Season 1 is streaming on Netflix now and season 2 premieres October 12th on The CW.
