1. Not asking or answering enough questions.
Classes that require class participation for a grade are your worst nightmare. God forbid you actually know the answer or have a legitimate question. You just don't want to be acknowledged. You can't take this much pressure!
2. Sneaking up on people.
Let's face it. Quiet people are the best ninjas.
3. Seeming like a pushover.
And when you actually hold your ground, people just can't believe it. Because in today's society, quietness is assumed conformity or weakness of will.
4. Taking harsh criticism well.
Even if you haven't been conditioned to not take anything too personally, or you put on a great poker face, you don't find it worth your time to 'fight back' unless you've been wrongly accused. You take the critiques head on, like an oncoming train.
5. You take on a heavy work load and rarely complain.
It's mostly because of pride and not courtesy, though.
6. You people watch more than you contribute to conversation.
And you realize this can creep others out sometimes, but whatever.
7. You find yourself trying too hard when it comes to smiling at people on the sidewalk or in the hallway.
You realize it might look fake and awkward and you are ashamed of your face's inability to show proper emotion.
8. You don't correct people. You just settle.
Waiter got your order wrong? Just take off the toppings you didn't want or eat it anyway. Someone mispronounced your name? It doesn't bother you too badly, so you raise your hand for roll call.
9. You have a ton of opinions but usually don't enjoy group debate.
You'd rather talk about the meaning of life one on one with a loved one or a few best friends. Altogether, you'd rather avoid any possible conflict unless it's a life or death situation for someone you care about.
10. Feeling like a horrible person for not saying yes.
It's simple enough to explain that carrying out a favor is inconvenient or difficult, but when it's for someone that you know would always reciprocate the gesture, you curse your good conscience and work ethic.
11. Which in turn leads to wishing you hadn't volunteered for a majority of the load in a group project.
Seriously, why are you always so nice?
