The swing was key tonight. This was sort of a nice reprieve from the rest of the season in the fact that this was a very good, classic Survivor situation. We have a swing vote in the middle of two power alliances and both are battling for the vote. Tonight we found Michaela and Tai in the middle after Tai was turned on by his own alliance last week, which I credit Cirie and Andrea to getting them to do that. Michaela also found herself in the middle because she was not taken on the reward to spend time with her Mom. It seemed early on that Michaela and Tai were going to vote Andrea out, however that didn't happen and Sierra was the latest casuality of Survivor: Game Changers.
Sierra really set herself up for this one I believe. She should never have told Officer Sarah the details of the Legacy Advantage. She should've just said that it could only be played at Final six instead of telling Sarah that if she were to be voted out she would have to pass it on to someone else and in this case Sierra said she would give it to Sarah. Why would you do this? What does this do to benefit your game? Nothing. It gives Sarah all the more reason for Sarah to vote Sierra off. She ends up telling Michaela this before Tribal when Michaela and Tai had been dead set on voting out Andrea. From a viewing standpoint, I think the show is trying to make us think that Sarah is the one calling the shots, but here is what is really happening. Cirie is really the Queen of this Island.
Michaela did not flip because Cirie and her have that Final 2 from the merge episode. She is the one that convinced Michaela to stay with them. Cirie is playing so masterfully. On the surface, it looks like Andrea is the one making all of these big moves and leading the charge in these strategic talks, but just listen to Cirie when she talks. She is constantly telling her alliance how they need to handle certain people in certain situations. Andrea is just Cirie's mouthpiece. I beleive Cirie and Andrea are truly calling the shots, but Andrea is always the one to voice those opinions. That is why Andrea is the target on everyone's mind and that is why Michaela said she felt like she was being told what to do. Her and Cirie had a conversation before I guarantee it and Cirie cooled her down, which in turn got Tai on their side. I don't think (keyword: Think) Tai is going to be doing anything without Michaela from here on out. In fact, Cirie probably should try to form a Final 3 with these two. Tai isn't going to win and Michaela is also not going to win. They can win challenges for Cirie and provide safety for her. The only wrinkle in this plan is Tai. Tai is a known flipper and could always go back to Brad and Troyzan, plus I could see Sarah being swayed as well. Next week, I think Andrea could be in some major trouble. The heat could get to be too much on her that it rubs off on Cirie, and knowing Cirie that won't fly.
Speaking of Sarah, while she is playing a good game, I don't think she is making any friends on the jury. First off, we have Debbie. Debbie is clearly mad at Sarah after last week's tribal. We have Ozzy who is spending a bunch of time with Debbie, which isn't good. Then we have Zeke who she betrayed last week. Zeke doesn't seem to take the game very personally, but he very well could be. Sarah is going to have to be at the end with the right people to win this thing I think though. She does now have the Legacy Advantage too so that is something.
On Social Media, there is a lot of talk about why not vote Michaela out after everyone found out that she was the swing vote. I get the reasoning, however, when you have as much control over someone as much as Cirie does, why get rid of a number? This was the right move.
The Family visit was as touching as ever and it was great to see Cirie and her son reconnect. Other than that, this episode I believe set up a lot moving forward. Tonight though, even though we didn't see much, I have to name Cirie the MVP of this week. If she makes it to Final Tribal, expect fireworks!
