It's the end of the quarter (or semester, for some) and that can only mean one thing...finals. Before you venture off on your spring break vacation, you have to conquer the massive amount of stress heading your way.
Lucky for you (and me), there are several easy steps to take in order to ensure a successful week of testing.
1. Silence Social Media
Yup. I get that you have Kylie Jenner on tweet notifications, but whatever she's saying can wait. Put your phone on do not disturb mode and focus on the bigger picture. I'm not saying turn your phone off for the entire week, but it's important to make studying your main priority. Kylie isn't taking these finals, you are!
Avoid All-Nighters
Whoever said all-nighters were ever a good idea...lied. If you haven't been putting forth any effort the entire semester, then I hate to be the bearer of bad news. NEWS FLASH: trying to cram every lesson that was taught into your brain the night before, isn't going to do much except stress you out even more, and make you exhausted the next day. Start early; set aside appropriate study time periods, and get some sleep! Make the next day great!
Stay Healthy
If possible, avoid sugar rushes at ALL costs. The night before and morning of your exams, try to eat foods high in protein so it can give you enough energy to survive those lengthy tests. There is absolutely nothing worse than being hungry during a test, trust me.
Test Different Study Methods
I'll be honest, I've never really been one to study....until college that is. If you're like me, and flashcards just don't seem to be doing the trick, it's okay to try something else! Highlight important information, get your roommate to quiz you, or even reading the same sentence over and over again can actually help you remember things.
Keep Calm
Be confident in what you've learned and remember that the only thing standing between you and your vacation is a few little tests! Don't stress out too much, and remain positive. You've got this.
