My fandom is better than yours. That's a scientific fact. It just is.
"Supernatural" trumps every other fandom out there. "Doctor Who?" Nope, SPN is better. "Sherlock?" Nope, SPN is still better. Firefly (if that fandom even exists still), "Supernatural" is way better.
For the sake of this argument, we're not going to bring in the fandoms based off books or movies such as "Harry Potter," "Lord of the Rings," "Game of Thrones," "Twilight" (but lets be honest, every fandom kicks the Twilight fandoms ass). We're not talking about those because in my mind those fandoms are not comparable to TV fandoms.
The "Supernatural" fandom is the best because we have GIFs for everything. If you don't believe me, you'll find out soon enough.
Our main characters literally cannot die, or at least stay dead. They always come back. So if the season ends with Sam or Dean dying, don't worry. They will be back because it's never over.
The writers find stupid jokes that the fans love and stick with it. I figured this out a couple weeks after joining the fandom, because for the life of me I could not figure out why everyone referred to Sam as a Moose. I had seen t-shirts, fan-art, Tumblr post all referring to Sam as a Moose and I had no idea why. It wasn't until I reached Season 5 Episode 20, when one of the characters refers to Sam as a Moose for a split second. That nickname stuck because the fans loved it, and still to this day the writers will slide in a tribute to the Moose.
The cast is weirder than the fans.
And the fans are really weird...
Jensen Ackles is literally the most beautiful man to ever walk this Earth...
and he's hilarious.
The cast sincerely care about the fans. Jared Padalecki started a charity campaign titled Always Keep Fighting. Jared started it when he opened up about his depression and anxiety and wanted his fans to know that no matter what they're not alone and there will always be someone who cares about them.
Sam's puppy-dog face.
Also, Misha Collins' character Castiel is one giant walking meme. He's kinda like a confused grandma because a lot of things go over his head, he doesn't understand social cues, but he does have a big heart and really does care about the boys.
Sam and Dean's relationship is unlike any other. They're both on the surface manly men with a rough exterior, but they've got a soft spot for each other. They may not have a conventional place of belonging, but they belong to each other.
The soundtrack. You can always count on this show to have the best music out of every fandom. Carry On My Wayward Son has become the official, but unofficial, theme song for the SPN fandom. With rock artist like Def Leppard, Survivor, Kansas, and Styx, legendary music is being resurrected and will slowly but surely kill off the crappy, auto-tuned, top 40 hits.
Bobby. Enough said.
The insults Cas comes up with.
Sam's sass level.
And last, but certainly not least, the SPN fandom had the glorious '67 Chevy Impala. Everyone in the fandom knows everything about that car and can identify it just by the purr of it's engine. It killed us during season 7 when Sam and Dean couldn't drive around in the Impala in order to go under the Leviathans radar, because the Impala isn't just a car, the Impala is a home.
