A new week is upon us and on the calendar it starts on Sunday. For some, Sundays are just a regular day and nothing significant really happens to them. But to others, you need to get certain things off your to do list in order to start your week sufficient. These are the five different Sunday’s scenarios that you’ve experienced or will experience.
Childhood Sunday
Wake up to the smell of eggs and bacon that your mom is making in the kitchen. The overwhelming smell makes you put on clothes and drag yourself to the bathroom to brush your teeth. Finally, you’re actually awake and you get to the kitchen to say hi to your mom setting up the table in the dining room. You see your dad in the living room watching TV and you go up to him and hug him. All is calm, not a worry in the world. All you have to worry about is what you want to do later and the possibilities are endless: you can draw, go to the park, go on errands with your mom, or even watch endless cartoons in front of the TV.
Hangover Sunday
It’s 2 pm and you're still in bed. The smell of food makes your stomach turn and you can hardly move. Getting up is like the idea of Trump actually winning the presidential election -- a bad thing. Oh no, you got up and now you got to find the nearest bucket, trash can, toilet or something. Never mind, false alarm; you got this; you just need to sleep it off for the whole Sunday. But first, Advil and some bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with orange juice with sunglasses on your groggy face. Don’t think about anything else except that food and spending that whole Sunday in your bed, because alcohol is not your friend…until next weekend.
Lover Sunday
You wake up and you roll over, and instantly there is a smile on your face. Your significant other is right next you. The smell, the feeling, and the comfort are all in your bed and right next you. They wake up and they grab your waist to pull you in closer. The gentle touch is more smoothing than anything in the world. The tired voice then says, “Good morning,” and that was it. You’re going to have a good week. The feeling of being loved can satisfy anyone and will enhance your mood for the week.
Busy Bee Sunday
It's 7 a.m. and you get up in a hurry. You take a quick shower, brush your teeth, groom yourself, and your out the door with a granola bar in one hand and coffee mug in the other. This will probably last you for five minutes. You have to go through everything that’s on your to do list: groceries, gym, mall, and church. All of this must be done. You hit every red light, end up on the long line in the market, and misplaced your wallet. If you don’t complete everything, nothing will go right and you’ll have a frustrating week. It's 5 p.m. You get home after doing all the errands and you finally can breath. You did it all. You go, Glen Coco. If you can get through your busy Sunday, you can get through the week.
Family Sunday
It's 9 a.m. and you roll over to your significant other and finally you get up to make breakfast for your family. You set up the table and your children come to your lap greeting you with the happiest smile on their faces. It’s crazy how life worked out; now you’re raising your own family and Sundays are the only day you can really enjoy your family together. After breakfast, you spend the whole day with your family, including errands and other activities your children may have, like soccer. To some this might be annoying, but to a family this is the normal Sunday. At the end of the day, this is the start to make your week enjoyable.
Sundays can be planned in a variety of situations --which one are you in?
