On a sunny day, you can find me driving home from class listening to country radio, and recently, I was pleasantly surprised to hear one of my old favorites: Craig Morgan's "That's What I Love About Sunday."
Listening to this song now that I'm in college has changed its meaning for me because now, more than ever, I truly see the value of my Sundays. It is the one day of the week when we can take a break from the rigors of college academics and socialization and not even feel bad about it or miss out on anything. Once Monday hits, it's difficult to not feel like a worthless pile of garbage if Netflix asks if you're still watching (what a silly inquiry), but on Sundays, that feeling simply does not exist.
In contrast, however, Sunday can act as a built-in buffer to get your life back in order before another long week. It's the ideal time to catch up on homework, clean your room, plan out your schedule for the week, and mosey on down to church to get right with The Lord because of the contents of your Saturday nigh SnapChat story.
For those folks who just cannot seem to sit still, Sunday is an excellent time to do a little exploring, get your heart rate up and soak in some vitamin D. Take a hike, sweat at the gym or day drink with some friends to clear your cooler of that weekend's supply because I can guarantee you that beer does not drink itself.
Sunday is overflowing with possibilities, however I already know what I'll be doing: God rested on Sunday, and so shall I.
