It's that time of year again: school is coming to a close, the weather is bright and warm, and friends and family are getting together more than ever to partake in events and activities not normally done during any other season but summer. So here's a list of some of the few suggestions you and your loved ones can do during the highly anticipated summer vacation season:

1. Bonfires, bonfires, bonfires.

Big or small, on an open field or in a fire pit, gather around a fire with some friends one night. Bring some music, blankets, and supplies for s'mores! Make sure to absolutely remember bug spray too...

2. Go swimming... everywhere.

What I mean by this is don't limit yourselves simply to a pool. Go to the beach, or a lake, or a water park. The opportunities are endless!

3. Attend a music festival.

The beautiful thing about attending an outdoor concert is that it's outdoors, and thankfully the summer season allows that to happen. Spending all day and night outside with loads of people all commonly there to share the love for music is a pretty awesome thing to be a part of.

4. Take a road trip.

There's no need to worry about horrible road conditions during the summer season, so grab a few friends, roll the windows down, play some of your favorite car playlists, and visit a place different from your hometown. Maybe hit up the shops, or restaurants, or park grounds and find ways to entertain yourselves like I know you all can.

5. Attend family BBQ's.

Though you may be hesitant at first to spend a weekend night with your family, don't miss out. Family BBQ's always turn out to be memorable in some way, despite whatever your feelings towards them may be. You can't forget about the awesome food either.

6. Bring games to the beach.

Though relaxing on your towel or beach chair, and taking a dip into the water every once in a while when going to the beach is pleasurable, make sure to also bring some games and activities that can make time fly by for you and your friends during a beach trip. Kan Jam, a volleyball net, Paddle Ball or a frisbee, but those are just a few suggestions.

7. Spend the day at an amusement park.

Six Flags, Disney World or Disney Land, Hershey Park, or whatever is nearby (or not, totally up to you). Spend the day waiting on lines, eating greasy food, and getting on as many rides as you and your friends can.

8. Attend a Major League Baseball game.

I know going to Yankee games was always reserved for at least one weekend during my summer vacation and I'm grateful for it.

9. Celebrate the 4th of July like you've never celebrated anything before.

The 4th of July is the summer's trademark holiday, so why not celebrate the summer's Christmas in a way that only you and your friends and family know how: when the weather's nice and the patriotism is at an all-time high.

10. Take loads of pictures.

Summer vacation is filled with too many memories and fun experiences with others, so why not capture every moment? You won't regret it when your back at school and looking up at your decorated wall filled with precious times you and your friends and family had this past summer.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
