11 Hip-Hop/R&B Hits For Your Summer '16 Playlist

Summer is officially here! That means hot weather, BBQs, parties, work, and more parties. As we let some skin show and show off our summer bodies…well somewhat summer bodies, we need the summer playlist to map out how awesome summer is going to be. Here’s 11 songs that signify how lit this summer will be:

1.The whole Color Book Mixtape

If you haven't heard Chance the Rapper's new mixtape Color Book I need you to get your life together as soon as possible. The beautiful combination of rap and gospel will transcend you to a new level of spirituality as these amazing songs grace your ears. You're welcome.

2. Panda

Panda by Desiigner has been played constantly and have been giving pandas all over trouble as memes surface with their women counterparts beat other male pandas for flying to Atlanta. The dopplganger of rapper Future sing has been an addictive even though we don't know half of the words he's saying.

3. One Dance

Seems like Drake hanging out with Rihanna has rubbed off with him as has One Dance has the reggae fill that makes you want to wine and wave a flag in the air.

4. Controlla

Yes, another Drake song....you can't tell me that this song is not good too.

5. Needed Me

Since we are on the Rihanna influence track might as well include her in the list. Since the song Work is working everyone's last nerve this must needed song Needed me by Rihanna is a relief. Even though its kind of a breakup song still can dance too it though as you beat up your ex or during a ladies night out.

6. Gucci Mane

Yes, this is a rapper but as you know the trap king is finally out and already has a mixtape out. Should be known to all that Gucci Mane is going to crank out a lot of songs during the summer so he has to be on the list.

7. Two Phones

Kevin Gates is and forever be on the summer playlist. Especially the song two phones the official player song for the summer. Summer is the time for singles and two phones is the anthem for that.

8. Lemonade

Beyoncé of course makes the list and even though she snatched our edges bald and also gives us life. Lemonade is the anthem for Black girls magic. This would be played all day and all night. Get ready for the hot sauce.

9. UltraLight Beam

From Life of Pablo comes another rap meets Gospel. Kanye west will take you to church as Kelly Price moves your soul with her voice and with Chance the rapper graces the track by his lyrical flow. To top it off the little girl in it makes you feel like you should walk to the alter.

10. Work, Work, Work....

Okay its a seriously annoying song yes but you have to admit that it is a real good song.

11. Frank Ocean

We all know Frank Ocean had left us all M.I.A but, recent news tells us that he is finally going to release his long awaited album. Let's see if it is as good as we waited for..

So there's the list of the summer time to get lit, get money, and whatever you do in summer lol.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
