Summer is here and the prospect of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is also in the near horizon.

However the Olympic games this summer have had an unfortunate plague upon them in the form of government turmoil and world policies against sending athletes to countries seem to be infested with a virus. This year that viruses name is Zika in the country that is hosting the Olympics, Brazil, is experiencing a lot of pressure from the international community to protect the players of nations around the world so that this years Olympics cannot only be successful but also safe.

It is interesting how the world is responding to Brazil hosting the Olympics considering that not so long go specifically to years ago Brazil hosted the FIFA World Cup. The reason that most people don't hear about the World Cup is because of how well Brazil did handling the World Cup despite the same type of propaganda promotion before the World Cup about Brazil turmoil that we are now hearing prior to the summer Olympics.

The reasoning for the Olympics is to bring nations together as one in a host nation as Natalie respect the host nation's values and cultures but also to realize that once a host nation has been picked in that country has been given an opportunity to at least for a short period of time expand an open its arms to the rest of the world and a lot of rest of the world to enter A country that it might not have known much about.

And yet mass media in combination with world governments keep accusing the Brazilian health ministry in addition to the World Health Organization that the safety and security of their players is their primary concern and even talk only a month and a half before the Olympic Games are to begin of banning the games from Brazil has been very fervent in recent months.

While this may seem both unpredictable and a logical the fact of the matter is that the Olympic Games will go on in Brazil and whether world powers of like like or dislike that fact the bottom line is at the Olympics is a celebration of the cultures of the world nations coming together in addition to their people's to celebrate the athleticism of the best that each country has to offer.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
