Finally, it's that time of the year when we can relax, enjoy the sun, and pig out. Number one rule of a proper pig out: a great TV show for binging. And it can't just be any TV show. It has to be funny, entertaining, and not too cheesy (although a little cheesiness never hurt anybody)! Here are my top 5 best TV shows on Netflix to binge out to. ...Plus a few more just for you.

1. "Dear White People" (Netflix Original)

I know that the title alone will turn couple people off but the show is truly amazing and really insightful. The story is about a group of black students at a prestigious college, all with very different personalities and aspirations. Each episode focuses on a different character's perspective.

The writing on this show is incredible and even though the show's target audience is POC, I promise no matter who you are, you'll love it. The character dynamics are better than any show I've seen lately. There are two seasons out on Netflix that comes out to a total of 10 hours!

P.S. There's also a movie which came out first if you want to watch even more. It's just not on Netflix.

2. "Greenhouse Academy" (Netflix Originals)

Fair warning: this show is more on the cheesy side of things. But I binge watched it in two days so clearly its good enough for a good summer pig out. This show has something for everyone. It has mysteries that need solving, love triangles, and all the cat fights you could ever ask for.

The show follows a brother and sister who's mother died during a mission as an astronaut. They start high school as this very technologically- advanced, private school, where their mother used to attend, and try to fit in as best they can. The story does start off a little awkwardly, and it will probably take you until about episode 5 to get really get into it, but it will be totally worth it!

And there's two seasons, so extra binging!!

3. "Skin" (UK Version)

This has got to be without a doubt my favorite TV show. It has 7 seasons (so much to binge)! Every two seasons is a different generation of kids for you to come along and follow. It's a classic British show (yay accents!) and it's sure to make you laugh, cry, and wish you had friendships that amazing.

This show has some amazing characters and personalities. And it talks about real issues, not just rainbows and butterflies. It's a real coming of age story. I promise once you watch it, you'll be hooked!

Warning: if you don't like watching drugs, alcohol, or nudity, this show is not for you!

4. "On My Block" (Netflix Original)

Although this show is technically about thirteen-year-olds, I promise you I related to this so strongly as a twenty-year-old! This show is amazingly funny, full of drama, and have some great love stories.

It's about a group of kids who live in a poor neighborhood in LA surrounded by gangs and violence. One of the friends is forced to join his family's gang after his brother is released from prison and it all goes downhill from there.

I was hooked from the first episode all the way through until the end! (It has a crazy cliffhanger in the finale that you do not want to miss!) Unfortunately, right now there is only one season, but they're scheduled to have another one coming soon. So start binging the first season now to get ready for season two!!

5. "Thirteen Reasons Why" (Netflix Original)

I know there has been some controversy surrounding this show, but it is honestly such a raw and thought-provoking show that you do not want to miss. The main focus of the story is about a girl named Hannah Baker who kills herself because of several people in her life who she feels have led her life to be as miserable as she perceives it to be.

It talks about all the important issues our society tiptoes around, like depression, anxiety, bullying, and suicide. The second season comes out Friday, May 18! And with music by Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, Khalid, and so much more, it's a must-see TV show!

Bonus Time! And because I like you all so much, here are a few more shows you should be watching, just with no synopsis.

6. "Jessica Jones" (Netflix Original)

7. "Gilmore Girls"

8. "Jane the Virgin"

9. "The Office"

10. "The 100"

Happy Summer Everyone! Good Luck Binging!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
