Summer is in full swing, and I think I can speak for everyone when I say man, are we happy. It seems like the summer was never going to come around. But it is here, and we have the next few months to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and being poolside. The summer brings so many great things for us to enjoy; such as:
You can sleep in until whatever time you want. During the summer, there is no unacceptable time to wake up. So if you feel like sleeping in until three because why not, then you just go ahead and sleep in until three. It is the summer and there is no judgement …well maybe a little judgement.
Reading is only for fun, and there will not be a test or a paper to complete once you have finished the book. You can take all summer if you so please to finish just one book. Reading can be quite relaxing when you do not have three weeks to finish it and write a four-page paper. Find a nice book and kick it poolside.
Weekend road trips are a thing during the summer. You do not have to worry about what test or homework you have to get done in order to go. You can just grab some friends and load up the car and go go go.
You finally have the time to sit back, relax and start going through your list of Netflix shows that you have been meaning to watch. You do not have to keep telling yourself, “Oh, just one more episode and then I will start my homework or start studying.” When the “do you want to keep watching” pops up, you can click “keep watching” without guilt or shame.
All those recipes and DYI crafts that you have been pinning over the year can now be done. Make those Fourth of July themed cupcakes that you pinned back when you were supposed to be studying. Wow your parents with your amazing cooking skills and make that garlic chicken pasta you pinned under master chef.
The summer brings us so many luxuries that we cannot do during the regular school year. We only have a short few months to get to do all the fun things we want to do before August comes. Eat as many snow cones or snow balls (whatever you choose to call it) as you like and enjoy as much fun in the sun as you can possibly take.
