It is summer time, and now that the stress of classes are over it is time to focus on one thing and one thing only; yourself. Of course, this is always your priority, but sometimes it doesn’t get so much focus with such a busy life style. Having a lightened schedule gives you time to think of what will make you happiest. The goal at the end of summer is to to think that it was the best it could possibly be. These are a few suggestions that will help brainstorm ideas for YOUR summer.

Adventures

There is no other time in the year you have ACTUAL free time, make most of it. Yes, laying in bed binge watching Netflix is fun and all, but that is not what you want to look back on years later. Go places you have never been, and do things you have never done. There are plenty of festivals and concerts that happen all over the country. If you would like some cheap options, there are forest preserves everywhere for exploring. As long as your with your friends, than anything can be an adventure.

Fitness

It never hurts to get a little active! Getting healthier not only is good for you, but it will give you a little more confidence. If the standard daily gym workout makes you cringe, join a fun fitness class, or look up healthy tasty recipies you can make for your friends and family. When heading back to school, you can show off the new you and tell everyone how you did it.

Friends, Friends, Friends

In order to be happy, part of it is your environment. There is no better way to enjoy summer than to be surrounded by the people who matter most to you. The nice thing about summer is YOU decide who you want to see everyday, take advantage of it. Hangout with some old friends and some new friends. Being with friends and family as much as possible will make you not want the summer to end.

Treat yourself

This is the time you are working endless hours at your job/ internship. Every once in a while you need to treat yourself. Save up some money, and spend it on something that you have wanted for a long time. It can also push you through hard hours knowing that you will get an incentive from it soon.

Be Productive!

We all love to turn off our brains when we are on summer vacation, but when heading back to school it makes it hard adjustment to get back into the school mode. Keep your brain active this summer by taking a summer class. It will keep yourself focused, and it will lighten your load for the next school year. Another option is reading. It is relaxing, and it keeps you intouch with your intellectual side.

As you are soaking up the Vitamin D, remember that soon you will not get a summer break. Do not let this time slip away! Smile every chance you can get, and laugh so hard you can't breathe. These are the best years of your life, so hangout on the beach side and make some memories.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
