I am going to be a freshmen in college starting this fall, and leaving my home to go to a city where I know no one is not something I look forward to. I’ll be leaving behind friends, families, crushes, and my old life behind to start a new one. Leaving home will probably be the most terrifying thing I will ever have to do in my life, so before I leave, I want to have a great summer that will leave a lasting impression. So how am spending my summer?

I’ve been traveling

I have always loved to travel, so (having a dad that works for an airline has its perks) my mother and I planned a post-graduation trip to St. Lucia, which was by far the biggest trip we have ever taken. The day after graduation I was on a plane headed to paradise. I spent a relaxing and exhilarating week zip-lining through the rain forest, snorkeling, exploring the island, eating, and tanning. The best part was the zip-lining.

I’ve spent half of my time procrastinating.

I am an avid procrastinator, so if I’m home, you will find me on the computer watching Netflix. I do not plan my days. I don’t even go out. I stay in my pj’s, eat junk, and binge watch my favorite "Bones" episodes. Summer is all about procrastination and relaxation.

I have spent the other half of my time with friends.

I love my friends. They keep me sane. I have no idea how I would have endured senior year without them. We are all big kids literally and physically. My friends and I are total goofs, and when we get together we become total girls: we gossip, talk about boys, stuff our face, and go to movies and cry (thanks "Furious 7").

I am spending time with my mom.

Because I am moving away, my mom and I try to spend as much time as possible together. She is my ultimate best friend, and we can talk about almost anything. When I leave, I know she will miss me in between all the parties she plan’s on having, and dancing around the house singing, “She’s gone!” I love her to death and wouldn’t change her for the world.

In all, my summer has been the best I have had in a long time, and it will continue to be the best! This is as good a time as any to make everlasting memories, so that when I go off to college I have stories to tell.
