Remember the days when Summer seemed like the pinnacle of anything and everything? When you would start counting down the days until break as soon as October hit? In high school, Summer meant seeing your best friends every day minus the boring learning and the hours of homework. Well, not to say that Summer isn't fun once you go to college, but it's definitely different. Especially for us out-of-staters, Summer break can be a little bittersweet sometimes. So without further ado, here is Summer as told by a fellow college student.
1. You're basically in bed for the first, like, two weeks.
Because it's probably been a couple of months since you've gotten a decent night of sleep or even had a solid Netflix binge session, you go a little overboard in the beginning of summer, but hey, we've all been there.
2. You get to reunite with your OG squad.
After you finally get out of bed, you realize how much you have missed your old friends and you, of course, proceed to spend every waking moment with them that you can.
4. Eventually, reality hits and you realize you're incredibly broke.
And you know what that means!!!
Every. Single. Day.
5. You also have to deal with this new concept called boredom.
You see, unlike college, you can no longer walk five feet from your room at two in the morning and find yourself surrounded by all of your friends. Instead, you have to settle with watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians with your cat.
6. Of course, we can't forget about your time spent endlessly struggling for that perfect summer bod.
or not.
7. But despite missing your college friends and having to work a lot, Summer is still wonderful because of the family, friends, and adventures you've got right here at home.
Because let's be honest, who doesn't love Summer?
