11 Top Trends For Summer 2016

It's finally almost summer, and that means new trends are hitting the stores! A lot of this summer's trends are repeats from previous decades, which is awesome. Check out 11 of this season's most popular trends in stores so far.

1. Open-Shoulder

Open-shoulder clothing, or cold-shoulder clothing, is everywhere right now! Whether it's a dress or a top, cold-shoulders look good on women of any age, because as said by Sarah Rutson, "Everyone's shoulders look great."

2. Jungle/Hawaiian Prints



From elephants to florals, and pineapples to leaves, wilderness, jungle and Hawaiian prints are definitely in this season.

3. Stripes



While stripes are pretty much always in style, bold stripes are specifically in fashion for summer 2016! These can be found in pretty much any piece of clothing.

4. One-Piece Bathing Suits


Bikinis have been the trend of choice for the past few summers, but this season one-pieces have made a comeback. Even 80s style one-piece swimsuits are back in season!

5. 80s Band T-Shirts



You don't even have to buy one— just ask your mom or dad to borrow their old ones!

6. Lace


Again, lace is pretty much always in season, but detailed and floral lace is really on trend for this season.

7. Nautical



Nautical seems to make a comeback every few years, but it's the perfect excuse to bring back your anchor and red/blue clothing!

8. Tassels and Pom-Poms


From jewelry to clothing, this is a trend that I would personally love to see stay. They are such a cute addition to any outfit!

9. Two-Strap Sandals


Target has been ahead of the game for a few seasons now, but you can find these style of sandals at pretty much any shoe/department store now! They're super comfortable, too.

10. Prints



Again, prints are obviously always in, but super busy prints and mixing prints is what is specifically in style for this season. So go out on a limb and try mixing different patterns in your outfit—it's probably in style!

11. Bronzed Glow

While this obviously a fashion item, bronzed glows are so in right now. Contouring and highlighting are a big trend, and there are so many different ways to try it, from bronzers to cream products and baking. Look up some contouring videos on YouTube to find how to get that brightening glow!
