We’ve all had them. Those days that just don’t seem to have anything go right. You woke up late and the shirt you're wearing has a stain it. You spill your coffee on the way out of the door while juggling your books and papers, just to drop your car keys on your way out. And that’s just the start of a sucky day. Often times however, it’s easy to let these inconveniences and annoying instances get the better of us and we take our frustration out on other people.
Whenever I’m having days like this, I get irrationally angry over small thing because my day has already been exceptionally stupid. Something I often lose sight of is the fact that life is way too short to let my anger get the best of me. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way, and I know we all feel guilty when we lash out at people we care about or even when we lash out at strangers.
Something I try to keep in mind when I’m met with these days is that the minuscule things which happen during my day are so insignificant, even though they seem monumental at the time. As annoying as these things are, they aren’t worth getting angry over. It sucks when it seems like nothing is going right that day, but that doesn’t justify lashing out at people who we come across just because we’re frustrated.
The bottom line is, please keep in mind that the people you encounter every day do not have anything to do with your bad day. Don’t blame them for all the crazy, coincidental, and unlucky things that happen to fall upon you one day. Always be kind, always be patient, and just remember that it’s just a bad day! It’s not the end of the world, and it’s not the world’s fault.
