It is that time of year again, and no I’m not talking about ABC Family’s "25 Days of Christmas." It’s the time that students everywhere dread, a time of sleep deprivation, a time of extremely excessive coffee intake and a time of random crying fits that everyone understands completely. It’s time for finals, and while not everyone understands the stress that comes along with this time of year, our good buddy Schmidt gets it.
He understands the feeling you get when your professor starts telling the class how much information is going to be covered on the test.
And then when you set up camp in the library early in the morning and someone asks how long you are going to be there
Or when you successfully study for more than 30 minutes without falling asleep or having a breakdown
It's the little things, right?
Or when you do take a study break and see high school kids on Twitter complaining about their finals.
Let's be real, Pre-AP English is not that bad.
When a classmate asks you to study together because they think you know the material
Trust me, I'm just as lost as you are.
When you are finally semi-caught up on your studying so you can go out
And then when you regret that decision…and every other decision you made leading up to this point
When your younger siblings tell you about how they are watching Christmas movies in class while you are spending your days and nights camped out in the library
Then when the stress of finals gets the best of you and your roommate finds you crying and clutching a pint of ice-cream while watching Elf and wishing you were 5 years old
At least they don't judge.
And then after you begin to question yourself, your major and every decision you’ve made in your life in general
Then when your mom calls to ask how studying is going and how your grades are looking
Ignorance is bliss, Mom.
When you have to talk yourself up before going into your professor’s office hours to ask for extra credit
And when your confidence and charm doesn’t work, so you have to resort to flattery
When you just wish you could jump over all of your problems like
We've all been there.
And then finally, Schmidt understands that final pep talk you have to give yourself before going into the test you have studied nonstop for
