10 Things To Remind Yourself Of Between Study Breaks

As a college student, you probably forget one of these things throughout your week.

1. Eat some food...

Giphy

Yes, I know you have a lot to do and catch up on but please eat something while working at least.

2. Breathe!

Giphy

I know it is overwhelming and you may feel like throwing everything out the window and going to a different country to start over. So please just take a step back and breathe.

3. Get some rest.

Giphy

Time management is truly the essential key to college. Manage your time wisely and try to get some sleep.

4. Take a break!!!

Giphy

School is hard and homework is annoying. So take 10 minutes out of your day and go take a walk without thinking about school.

5. Treat yourself!

Giphy

This one has definitely led my bank account through hard times so find a balance. Take yourself out for some ice cream or catch up on your TV show or read that book you have been putting off. You matter and your health does to, take care of it.

6. Don't procrastinate.

Giphy

Procrastinating is the absolute worst thing to do to yourself. You already have so much to do so leaving it for the last minute is probably not the best thing.

7. Socialize...

Giphy

Call your parents and talk to them, they probably miss you like you miss them. Go out with your friends and get some sushi or go out to see a movie.

8. Stay hydrated!

Giphy

Walking from class to class. Running around to get to your meetings. Pulling all nighter for projects. Everything is so overwhelming but please remember to stay hydrated.

9. Reach out if needed...

Giphy

If it has been two weeks and your writing class seems to be getting harder than ever, reach out to the professor for extra resources or ask friends if you can send them your writings for revisions. Do not be scared to ask for help.

10. Love yourself.

Giphy

This one is especially important. Be proud of yourself and how much you have done. Reward yourself for finishing that essay.

You are doing a great job, be proud of that! I am.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
