Going on vacation is always exciting. From Europe to Africa to Asia, wherever you go, you know it's going to be an amazing trip. However, the dreaded task of packing stands between you and your vacation.
Most airlines only allow for one bag to be checked in without an additional fee. Some may say that’s plenty, but others know it’s not enough. The fashionista in us girls knows, it’s definitely not! With all of the necessities we need, from hair appliances, hair care products to make up and shoes, it’s hard to fit everything into one suitcase without it being overweight.
Unlike guys—they have it easy. They can throw into their suitcase a pair of jeans and a couple of shirts and they’ll be done. They don’t care if their shoes match their shirt, as long as they are comfortable, they are good to go. Clearly, we girls don’t do that. We like to have options. From shoes to accessories, we like to be able to pick and choose what we want to wear.
Sometimes our outfits depend on our mood. We pick out an outfit the night before, and when we wake up the next day, we realize we don’t like the outfit we chose. Then, we have to start the process of rummaging through our luggage, once again, to find something decent to wear. For us, everything has to match: the shoes with the earrings and the necklace with our top. It’s an excruciating process but necessary. Obviously, we don’t expect the opposite sex to understand.
Packing for trips to colder countries is even a trickier mission. The clothes are larger, which means they take up more valuable space. And shoes—they are bigger and bulkier. But how can you leave behind your favorite Tory Burch boots? You can’t. Here comes the dilemma you struggle with the most, which color coat? White? Black? Burgundy? Then you ask yourself, will a gray sweater suffice?
I know it’s the 21st century, and we have been fighting for equality, but in this case, a little extra weight for our necessities are more than welcome. Gentlemen, next time you come across a woman struggling with her suitcases, don’t be quick to judge, but rather offer her an empathizing hand.
