Ah, to be a Troy University Trojan. Our football team is bowl eligible, we now have an updated cultural arts park and international arts center, and fall break is only two short weeks away. But life isn't always rainbows and butterflies around here, which I believe my fellow Trojans can attest to. College is a struggle, especially for today's students. We feel pressure to succeed, to graduate in four years or less, to choose a career that will someday support a family, etc. So with all of this stress and anxiety on our minds, sometimes it's hard to remember that college is actually a really fun time. With that being said, here are some struggles that all Troy students have experienced at least once this semester.

1. When you've had a full day of classes and realize you have an assignment due at 11:59 PM.

Well, there goes trying to get a good night's sleep for once.

2. When you're trying to figure out what's happening on the social quad.

Some days you just don't know and don't want to know. Stop bombarding me with questions, I'm just trying to get some chicken nuggets!

3. When you're deciding whether you should skip class or not.

Most of the time your gut will say "Skip class, sleep instead".

4. When you have to spend your hard-earned money on things like rent or gas.

Well. There goes my paycheck.

5. When someone complains about parking but you have to walk to class everyday.

We all have that one friend who has to walk everywhere. Maybe we should be more considerate and think before ranting? Oh, who am I kidding? We need a parking deck.

6. When your professor says the words "Pop Quiz."

These are two words that just shouldn't be allowed in a college classroom. Don't they know we have enough on our plates already?

7. When you're in class and imagining you're anywhere else.

Sometimes we just need to escape reality and pretend that we're on a secluded island.

8. When your professor asks if you understand the material.

You can act like you know it all, but grades don't lie y'all.

9. When your professor says you should know this stuff because you learned it in high school.

Yes, because I am supposed to remember every single detail of my high school education.

10. When professors try to act hip so they can relate to their students.

Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it's just sad.

11. When people underestimate you.

We may be mentally, emotionally, or physically unstable, but we are college students -- we will prevail!

12. When you talk to someone who is managing to hold their life together.

How do you do it? What is your secret? Teach me your ways!

13. When you're having a bad day and Einstein's is out of the strawberry banana smoothie.

To the world it may just be a smoothie. But to a hungry, stressed college student with dwindling flex points, it is something that can turn our whole day around.

14. When adulting becomes so stressful that you feel like you can't function.

High school really did not prepare us for this. What happened to the days of just sleeping in, watching cartoons, and playing outside? Now we have class, work, bills, rent, a social life, sporting events, organizations, the list goes on. It gets pretty overwhelming sometimes. So if you're like me and you're feeling the stress and worry of adulthood, just take some deep breaths, focus on what your personal and educational goals are, and remember that you are a strong, independent human being and you will survive the scary, exciting, dreadful, wonderful wilderness that is college.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
