Struggles Of An Easy Cryer

Basically, every time I see a puppy.

Struggles Of An Easy Cryer

Let’s face it: some of us cry a whole lot easier than others. The simplest thing, like an adorable picture of a puppy or someone who looks a little sad, can make us burst into ugly, sobbing tears.

As weird as it might sound to some of us who might not cry too easily, or think that these people who cry at the drop of a hat are just really over-exaggerating the situation they’re in or trying to get more attention, it’s not really that simple.

In reality, there are so many struggles of being someone who is an “easy cryer” that those of us who have a bit thicker skin should really start to understand more.

There can be a situation where there is literally no reason for you to be crying, like if someone just does something nice for you or is getting a little bit angry with you, and your eyes immediately well up with tons of tears.

This has happened to me, and it’s the most obnoxious and annoying thing to have happen, especially when you have to somehow manage to get yourself together in order to get back to work or class or whatever responsibilities you have.

Basically, I’m a sucker for my dad saying “I’m here for you, baby girl,” and my eyes are literally welling up just at the thought of it.

Any time you’re watching a movie, you have to brace yourself that at one point or another, there’s going to be a super-dramatic scene that completely tears you apart. Especially if you’re watching said movie with someone else, more importantly a significant other, you’ll try to hold it in as much as you possibly can until you inevitably explode with a stream of tears.

Adele, or that one song that just gives you all of the feels at once comes on the radio, and you completely lose it. Like can’t stop won’t stop crying uncontrollably even once the song is over for 15 minutes, singing along to every word through a waterfall of tears, and not being able to stop it even if you tried.

When you’re uncontrollably crying tears of happiness, like when you see a puppy or when you just see something so beautiful you can’t contain yourself, you’re constantly worried that people are going to assume that you’re crying sad or angry or scared tears instead of happy ones. What’s so bad about happy tears, people?!

Sometimes, or more like most of the time, the reason for your tears is not one that you actually want to be sharing with the person who is inevitably going to ask you why you’re crying in public.

And then there's that awkward moment when you're crying and there are people around you who want to comfort you since you’re so upset, but you don’t actually know why you’re crying in the first place.

Those poor people just want to make you feel better and you’re just screaming “I don’t know! I saw a dog one minute and I was crying the next and I don’t know how to stop it!” Wait, am I the only one who cries about dogs this often?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
