It's time for someone to be honest about the struggles of finding a summer job or internship, and no one is more honest than Parks and Recreation's own April Ludgate.

The Struggle Of Finding A Summer Job Or Internship, As Told By April Ludgate

Where did the time go? One minute, 'summer' meant being relaxed and doing absolutely nothing for three months. And then the next minute, summer is filled with endeavors that either make you money or strengthen your resume. All of this waiting has got you irritable, and I am here to say that is perfectly normal! Here are some other things we all have felt while trying to get that illusive summer job/internship.

The very realization of finding a job/internship goes against everything you believe in.

I mean, there is nothing wrong with spending your days watching Netflix and sleeping until August. But according to your friends and family, that amount of stationary activity might not be "healthy".

Listing your skills and interests is a piece of cake.

You're awesome, and you know it. But that doesn't mean it makes questions like "What are your interests?" or "What are you good at?" any easier to answer. Honestly, is this a job application or a eHarmony questionnaire?

Submitting your 20th application has you feeling like you are on a never-ending rollercoaster to hell.

When people push you to start applying for jobs and internships, they often don't tell you that you don't just apply to one and then you're done. Sometimes it's 10, or even 20. So good thing you are dedicated... right?

You dread interviews more than anything.

You sent the application and now they want to speak you too?! This is the point where you start wondering what else you can show them that you didn't already over-explain in your application.

You answer interview questions like a boss.

You don't want to brag, but when it comes to interviews, you got it on lock! Let's just say that you only conduct yourself with 60% awkwardness, as supposed to the full 100%.

Rejection doesn't phase you.

Rejection happens. It's part of life, or at least that's what everyone is telling you. But hey, at least you can find the bright side to it.

You know sooner or later that your pure awesomeness will get you hired.

It's going to happen eventually. You are the bomb-dot-com, after all.

When you finally get hired, you are determined to be the best damn employee ever.

You did do all this work to get hired, you might as well put effort into it. Plus the faster you do work, the faster the days go. *Simultaneously begins countdown to the weekend in head*.

You try your hardest to be a good co-worker/fellow intern.

Well you try your hardest sometimes. Other times, it is just too damn early for small talk.

More than anything, you are just counting the hours until you can go home and go back to sleep.

Whatever job/internship you get will be cool, because you are cool. But let's face it, nothing will ever be as interesting as your bed. #RealTalk

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
