I know many of us have used university Facebook pages and websites like RoomSurf to find the perfect roommates that you will click with. But honestly, nothing prepares you for the anxious first meeting of your roommates that all freshman go through.

Let me paint you a picture: You spent the past few months texting, all so excited for when August rolls around so you can finally meet face to face. Finally, today is that day. Your mom and dad drop you off and you are left in a room with strangers that you are going to be living with for the next year.

I never thought that the roommates that I found on a Facebook page would end up being some of the best people I ever met.

We became so close in such little time, it is hard to realize that I only have known them for six months. I know that some people are not as lucky as we are to get along so well with their freshman year roommate but I am so glad that we were one of them.

My friends in college made adjusting to college life so much easier.

I found friends that brought out the best in me and for that, I am forever grateful. The first semester of college comes with a lot of stress and tears adjusting to the course load. My friends have been there for all my meltdowns and helped me through them.

My roommates turned into to being my best friends that I would do anything for.

They are some of the best people I know and I do not know how I went how long without knowing they even existed. I know that they will always have my back, and I will always have theirs. I am so lucky that my roommates turned into my best friends and became my home away from home.

College is a growing experience, you won't be the same person coming into college that you will be coming out.

Your friends right now did not know you in high school, so you can reinvent yourself, change your reputation. You just have to take a leap of faith. Also, college is a fresh start, somewhere that you can leave all the drama from high school behind. I hope everyone else enjoys college how my friends and I do because to me it is an experience that is life-changing.

"The best kind of people are the ones that come into your life and make you see the sun where you once saw clouds. The people that believe in you so much, you start to believe in you too. The people that love you simply for being you. The once in a lifetime kind of people."

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
