The storm is coming. It is bold fierce and dangerous. Storms graze and pass our everyday lives. They sometimes are quick silent and deadly, other times they take a more relaxed approach to them. Slowly over time, they creep over the horizon to attack and wreck lives. They are hardly noticeable until it is too late. When a storm is brewing three options proceed one is to run into the storm and tackle them head on. The other is to flee and run with vigor in the opposite direction. The final action is to buckle up settle in and wait it out. Regardless the storm is coming there is no escape a choice must be made.
When the storm arrives, it is violent, unforgiving, evil, and chaotic. It tears through everything that is not bolted to the ground and sometimes the bolts with it. The storms that enter into our lives test our relationships, skills, determination, and most of all faith. When the storm arrives we suddenly relive what is most important to us we grab it and hold on to it. The storm is unforgiving and unwavering in its mission.
The different actions we take when a storm arrives tell a lot about someone’s personality. The one who runs into the storm is usually completely sure of their abilities or down right stupid. More often than not, they are both. Running into the storm without a second thought, they challenge the storms power and take power into their own hands. By attacking it, before the storm can control them they sometimes gain the upper hand. Other times the storm is waiting and ready to devour these rebels. The second option of the one who runs from the storm seeks to have peace and happiness. They wish to not have any problems and would sooner run from hardships rather than take them on. These characters often times have trouble with committing. However, they forget one thing there is always another storm. No matter where they travel, the storm will follow them. They are also blissfully unaware that part of the storm always follows them never leaving and never forgetting. The final option is to wait It out. Some board all the windows and hide in a tub. Others sit on their roofs with sunglasses and a sun hat waiting for the storm to come. The ones who sit in the bathtub are cowards and are always prepared for things that will never come. They plan because their plans are what they believe in. These plans are their saviors and without them, they feel crippled and lost. The ones who sit on the roofs are different. They stand out. It is because of one thing these people do not care for the storm. Their faith is in something much larger than the clouds on the horizon. Their faith seems otherworldly when trouble comes knocking the gleefully open the door and greet it. Unlike the others they do not go searching for trouble and when trouble does find them they stand firm smile and take the beating like a champion.
The storms are the troubles of life. The storms are sometimes large sometimes small. Regardless they are here. How we handle the storms of our lives all depends on how we deal with conflict. So do you run? Do you fight? Do you board up and hunker down? Or do you great it like an old friend?
